While the old guard in boxing continue to display anger toward mixed martial arts, it looks like the guys who are on the tail-end of their careers or just finished understand there's money in promoting fighting, that's all fighting. Fernando Vargas' event last month World's Collide in Primm, Nevada drew a nice crowd and he has another one on the way in April. Oscar De La Hoya felt it was worth his time to spend a few hours around the Affliction MMA event in January. Now Roy Jones Jr. has jumped on board with a boxing/MMA card next month in his hometown, Pensacola, Florida.
The promotion has put together at least three MMA fights worth tuning in for. Bloody Elbow.com reported this morning that Ken Shamrock will be the next opponent for pro wrestler turned cagefighter Bobby Lashley.
