Default Elite XC Takes Care of Business

Elite XC: “Unfinished Business” takes place Saturday night in Stockton, Ca., and the Mixed Martial Arts event will feature three title bouts (8 pm ET, CBS). Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith takes on Robbie “Ruthless” Lawler for the Middleweight title; Nick Thompson faces Jake Shields for the Welterweight belt; and Justin Eilers will be up against heavily favored Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva for the Heavyweight crown.

I like the card. I'll definately DVR it!

Lawler vs Smith Will be good. Lawler always brings a high energy fight.
Diaz vs Denny - I think Diaz will definitely win.
Shields vs Thompson Will be good, but I give advantage to Shields.
Baszler vs Cyborg - Baszler is awesome, but Cyborg is Chute Boxe.
Silva vs Eilers - I think Antonio Silva could be that #10 spot in the HW rankings. For his size he's pretty agile in there and watching him overwhelm cabbage the way he did and look good doing it is something I hope to see again soon.

Can't beat a good free MMA card!

I'm stilll a boxing pureist at heart, but I've got to admit the occasional MMA and UFC fight is pretty good to watch..

Oh, me too! I watched the early UFC's when it first started, through about the first 20, but became bored with it. Then back about 2003 or 2002, I saw a commercial about Royce Gracie, and I wondered whatever happened to him. It was for an event I was unaware of at the time called Pride FC. I didn't order the event, but sometime a while after I saw the 2000 Pride Grand Prix with Gracie on the cover. I was then hooked on Pride. I bought every single video and watched the ones from 2003 on to the end of Pride on Pay-Per-View.

I'm not currently into it as much as before, but I still like certain guys and recently saw Faber Vs. Pulver. Faber is a beast. I've always looked down on mma fighters, because of fans thinking they are "the best athlete ever" but when I watched them, even top guys would flurry and be tired after 2 or 3 minutes of the first round. When you come from watching prize fighting, to seeing guys that have pathetic stamina for fighting, it gets annoying to hear that people call them the best atheletes. Anyhow, Faber is an exception. Can't wait to see him fight more!
