I've been out there a couple times in the past two years. If anything, its just oversaturated in the number of casinos, but in no way were they lacking bodies in the casinos. Not the MGM, Bellagio or Cesars Palace that's for sure! And there definately was plenty of gambling happening at all times.
Perhaps more people are doing more gambling in the local casinos downtown instead of the mega hotels on the strip due to the fact that I believe machines are much more tight in the big hotels. The poker is good, but the machines I have never won anything real on them like I have in the smaller casinos.
I hope they aren't basing the revenues being down on their most productive years, because it can't possibly stay the same.
Yes, the economy is tight and that does factor in. Many people make a good income that aren't hurt by it, but the little folks that go in droves and fund these casinos operations by throwing the dice and pulling the slot levers may not be able to make it out in the current "recession" if you want to say.
