Italy is definitely one of the favorites in Euro 2008. They are the defending World Cup Champions, finished first in Group B Qualifying, and have one of the most feared front attacks in soccer with Alessandro Del Piero and Luca Toni forging ahead.
But they will be without their captain, Fabio Cannavaro, and they haven’t won this tournament since 1968. Those aren’t good signs for the Italians.
The Netherlands has always been a good team. They always seem to be right there in every tournament, every time a tournament is played, but the problem with the Netherlands is that they never get over the hump. They just can’t close the deal.
