With that in mind let’s take a peek at the top 5 Wide Receiver plays in Week 11.
1.Julio Jones, Falcons
I have been touting Jones all season long – he has delivered sometimes and has failed to impress at others. This week, off a bye and against an Indianapolis pass defense that ranks 26th in the league you have to think that Jones is due for an explosion of epic proportions.
He has gone over 100 yards in each of his last two games and is a lock to do so again in what has all the makings of a shootout at the dome. The Falcons know they have to get Julio going early and often – look for Matt Ryan to hit his meal ticket on 8-10 passes for 125 or so yards and a TD in this one.
2. Amari Cooper, Raiders
Cooper has been a beast all season long – don’t expect that to change this week against the Lions in Detroit. He had just 79 yards receiving last week against Minnesota but he was the most targeted guy on the team once again. He has scored four time in his last three games on the road and is by far the most effective weapon in the Raiders arsenal.
Oakland knows that if they are to win, Cooper will have to play a big part. 8 catches for about 120 yards and a TD is what I see this week.
3.Dez Bryant, Cowboys
Welcome back Tony Romo! Meet the disappointing Miami defense! You can bet that Bryant is ready to explode after substandard QB play and some unwanted scrutiny. The best way to put the controversy behind him is to rip opposing defenses apart – that’s what I think happens Sunday. Dez will get his looks and after the catch he should be able to take some of his frustrations out on the opposition. It’s put up or shut up time for Mr. Bryant – my guess is that he puts up. 8 catches for 100+ yards and a TD, maybe 2 is in store this week.
4.Mike Evans, Buccaneers
No wideout has been targeted more the last four weeks than Mike Evans – I don’t expect that to change against the Philadelphia Eagles. He has made the most of those targets gaining at least 125 yards in each of the last four. Drops continue to be a bit of a problem but once he rectifies that little issue, Evans is an automatic week-to-week Stud. I see another 125 yards this week and a TD against the burnable Eagles secondary.
5.DeAndre Hopkins, Texans
No top 5 list would be complete without DeAndre Hopkins. He faces Darrelle Revis and the Jets this week but this guy has proven to be absolutely matchup proof so far. He has topped 90 yards six times and has scored seven TDs on the year.
Hopkins will see a ton of targets as the unquestioned focal point of the Houston offense – 90-100 yards and a TD this week as Hopkins makes even Revis look ordinary.
