Seahawks Start Season on the Road – At Carolina in Week 1
The Seattle Seahawks begin a season full of lofty expectations on Sunday on the road against the Carolina Panthers. Some see this game as an easy “W” for the Hawks until you take a look at Seattle’s dreadful road record the last few seasons and their traditional struggles with 10 AM Pacific Time starts.
The Mike McCoy era begins in San Diego Monday night when the Chargers host defending two-time AFC South champion Houston Texans. San Diego has had more than its share of problems over the past couple of seasons and unfortunately for Bolts fans they didn’t exactly remedy what had ailed them during their down times.
Giants and Cowboys Kick Off Their Seasons Sunday Night
Another year brings another expectation in the states of New York and Texas that the Giants and the Cowboys will emerge at the end of the season with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The NFL East promises to be one of the more competitive divisions in football once again this year and Week 1 provides a marquee matchup on the Week 1 schedule.
The NFL schedule has been released, the Draft is over and the offseason workouts are in full swing as the sports world eagerly awaits the start of the 2013 football season. A look at the Week 1 docket reveals some quality games and some interesting Betting opportunities.
Bengals Travel to Baltimore for key AFC North Clash
The Baltimore Ravens begin their 2012 season on Monday night with high hopes of getting over the hump and getting back to the Super Bowl. In their way in Week 1 is one of the teams that they will have to better – the young guns of the AFC North, the Cincinnati Bengals.
Chargers and Raiders conclude Week 1 on Monday Night
The AFC West takes center stage in the final game of Week 1. For those of you in the East, you will probably rely on Sports Center for the results. For those of us in the West, we may actually see a good game between two teams looking to get off on the right foot this year.
It’s Manning Time Again! Broncos Open at Home versus Steelers
In one of the most anticipated opening Week games in years, Peyton Manning and his Denver Broncos (still sounds weird to say!) play host to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. Both teams are early Super Bowl contenders and both will be using this game as a measuring stick for just exactly where they are as a team.

A Quick Look at all the BEST Week 1 – 2011 NFL Gambling matchups!
New Orleans vs. Green Bay
NFL Week 1 Lines: Green Bay -5
Over/Under: 46.5
Thurs, Sept. 8
A Lambeau match-up pitting the last two Super Bowl winners against each other is a perfect way to start the 2011 season. Two of the league’s best pivots squaring off? Drew Brees’ third-ranked passing game contending with the reigning Super Bowl champions and their excellent secondary. Will Brees throw a bundle of interceptions like he did at times last year? Mikey likes it.
Minnesota vs. San Diego
NFL Week 1 Lines: San Diego -9.5
Over/Under: 41
Sun, Sept. 11
San Diego signal-caller Philip Rivers spreads the ball around to everyone in his offense; the visiting Vikes better be ready to fly all around the field if they want a chance. Quarterback Joe Webb is/was a try-hard option, but it’s entirely possible that rookie QB Christian Ponder will start for Minnesota in the opener. A little scary, perhaps?
Buffalo vs. Kansas City
NFL Week 1 Lines: K.C. -6.5
Over/Under: 42
Sun, Sept. 11
For the Bills to be a factor week in, week out, they need to capitalize on timely turnovers. If Buffalo’s secondary can make Chiefs’ QB Matt Cassel pay for mistakes, maybe the Bills just grab this opening road game. Ready to be surprised which team led the league in rushing last season? It was KC, with the potent duo of explosive Jamaal Charles and savvy vet Thomas Jones. Look out, Bills.
The two NFL representatives from Ohio are both fairly miserable, but they hate each other – so it should translate into an entertaining opening week game. Bengals RB Cedric Benson – who was crucial to the gameplan in past seasons – and the entire Cincy running game screeched to a halt in 2010, which isn’t a good sign for success in the AFC North.
For the Steelers, the first week of the 2011 regular season gets started in spectacular fashion. Both these teams were 12-4 in the division last year and both sport great running backs and great run defense. Looks like we’ll see if QB Joe Flacco is ready to be Ben Roethlisberger-like right off the hop of the 2011 campaign. What – or who – will flinch first? Downright tantalizing! [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Dallas vs. New York – Sunday Night Football
NFL Week 1 Lines: NYJ -4
Over/Under: 41
Sun, Sept. 11
The first Sunday night game of the year. That electric Cowboys RB Felix Jones only had one TD last season is criminal. Some say that Jones has lost quickness, but Dallas must do a better job of getting him into space. Tony Romo and the Dallas offense have a lot to prove after last season, but if any team can stifle these aims, it’s the Jets and their stingy defense.
Oakland vs. Denver – Monday Night Football
NFL Week 1 Lines: Denver -1
Over/Under: 41.5
Mon, Sept. 12
Double header Monday. This old-school rivalry fills the slate on Monday night for the 2011 season’s opening weekend. The Broncos had a productive passing game last year, but that was under the purview of QB Kyle Orton – not current starter Tim Tebow.
New England vs. Miami – Monday Night Football
NFL Week 1 Lines: New England -4.5
Over/Under: 45
Mon, Sept. 12
Double header Monday. Long-time New England hero Tom Brady and his Top 10-calibre offense plan on starting things out right in south Florida in the season’s first Monday nighter. Miami’s stout defense must live up to its billing if the Dolphins want to start 2011 with a victory.
