Both of these teams are still mathematically alive for the playoffs, but both teams not a lot of help to reach the postseason. The Steelers need a win coupled with two of the following teams to lose; the Jets, the Ravens and the Texans.

The Colts got in a lot of trouble with their fan base when they pulled their starters last week. Instead of trying for a perfect season, the Indy subs played and were handily defeated by the New York Jets.
Who would have thought that at this point the New Orleans Saints would be the team that would be faltering, while the Carolina Panthers were coming on strong? Yet if you have looked at the respective performances of these teams the last couple of weeks that might be the conclusion you’d draw.
Last minute heroics by Brett Favre simply weren’t enough as the Vikings were stunned during a Monday Night Football betting loss to the Chicago Bears last weekend. With the New York Giants on the docket playing for respect to close out their season, the Vikings will need to snap a two-game losing skid to keep their hopes of a first-round bye alive.

The Atlanta Falcons (8-7 SU, 10-5 ATS, 7-8 O/U) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-12 SU, 6-9 ATS, 6-9 O/U) won’t be going to the playoffs this season, but both franchises have a reason to go all out in their final regular season game this Sunday.

For the second week in a row the total bet was split right down the middle. Eight games stayed under the total and eight games went over. There were a few teams that basically took their game over on their own. San Diego put up 42 points on Tennessee, Carolina scored 41 against the N.Y. Giants, and Green Bay racked up 48 points against Seattle.
The Jets are going so bad right now that they managed to gain just 265 yards in last week’s pitiful loss at Seattle. Brett Favre, who’s been intercepted 19 times this season, was just 18 for 31 and suffered four sacks.

Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints (+3)
Last week, the Carolina Panthers were playing for the right to clinch the top seeding in the NFC. This week, if they lose, they can fall all the way down to the No. 5 seed in the conference.
The Panthers take their potent running game on the road to New Orleans as they try to topple a team that doesn’t have anything to play for. The Saints have been eliminated from postseason contention and aren’t playing for much more than pride and Drew Brees’ record.
