Last year the Red Raiders wilted big time, losing their final 5 regular season games against the better teams in the league before a surprising win against Arizona State.

The Red Raiders are near the bottom of the Big 12 standings. They have lost their last 5 games but they have had some surprising wins this season including beating Oklahoma State at home and Oklahoma on the road.
The Jayhawks took out their frustration of losing to Kansas State on TCU winning by 30. This one is on the road where the Jayhawks have struggled this season but it looks like another lamb to the slaughter at Texas Tech.
The 14th-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils will take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Dec. 30 in the National University Holiday Bowl.
The Texas Tech Read Raiders will lock horns with host Texas in their annual interstate rivalry game on Thanksgiving night.
The Baylor Bears continue on their BCS Championship trek as the Texas Tech Red Raiders ride into Arlington, Texas to end their three game skid.
A pair of teams that met in the Big 12 conference title game last season will do battle on Saturday, when Kansas State arrives in Lubbock looking to upset No. 15 Texas Tech.
This is an important game for both teams in what should be an interesting race in the B12 over the final month of the season. The Cowboys and the Red Raiders are two of the three teams with one league loss so far, so whoever loses this one is likely eliminated from contention given there are still two undefeated teams.
So far Texas Tech has been perfect this season, rising to #10 in the nation – but I don’t think anyone thinks this team is actually deserving of that elite opinion. Things are about to get a lot more difficult for them starting this week with a trip to Oklahoma to face the Sooners.
Texas Tech might be the undefeated team with the least amount of hype right now which is a bit surprising given they kind of have the inside track on the BIG 12 which last I checked that is still considered a major football conference.
The Iowa State Cyclones are looking to get off the mat after a close and controversial loss to Texas a couple of weeks ago. They are not likely to be a factor in the B12 race this season but they could put certainly a dent in someone else’s chances by grabbing a game somewhere.
There is profound enthusiasm over the announcement of Kliff Kingsbury taking the reins as head coach in Lubbock, as Kingsbury is a former record-shattering Tech pivot himself. Undoubtedly, this move has fired up the Red Raiders’ fan base.
Texas Tech (5-6) looked like a lock to make a bowl game a few weeks back when they shocked Oklahoma beating the Sooners in Norman, but they have lost 4 straight since then and must beat Baylor (7-4) to be bowl eligible.
The Sooners moved up to #2 in the BCS polls with Alabama losing last week and to stay there they will have to beat Texas Tech in their house.
Oklahoma (6-0) is undefeated and has 3 straight blowout wins and they are HUGE favorites over Texas Tech (4-2), who has lost 2 straight games. However, Tech has the nation’s 6th ranked passing offense and the nation’s 9th highest scoring team so they may not be a push over.
Kansas State (5-0) is off to their best start in 11 years and look to snap their 5-game losing streak to a Texas Tech (4-1) team that, shocker, has one of the best passing offenses ranked 6th in the nation in passing yards per game.
