The “Snoopy Bowl” is on Friday night between the New York Giants (3-0) and New York Jets (2-0). The Jets won the game last year (24-21 in OT) and you can bet that both teams will want to win this game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) beat the Bills (19-16) last week at Heinz Field. The Philadelphia Eagles (0-2) offense looked great last week, but the defense was horrendous in a loss to the Patriots (42-35).
The Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers both lost in week 1 of the preseason. The Dolphins lost to the Falcons (16-10) while the Bucs lost to the Jaguars (16-10). Both of those losses were on the road.
The Green Bay Packers struggled in week 1 of the preseason and lost to the Titans (20-16) at home. The St. Louis Rams looked good in the opening week despite losing at home to the Saints (26-24).
Both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears opened up the preseason with a home win. The Jaguars beat the Buccaneers (16-10) while the Bears put up a ton of points in a win over the Eagles (34-28).
Football is finally back baby! The offseason always seems too long! Vegas has updated their Futures – it hasn’t made much of a difference for the NFC. The Seahawks are still the favorites followed by the 49ers.
Training camps are in full swing and the first of the NFL preseason games is in the books – Football is officially back baby and it is about time! With the dawning of a new season comes a sense of optimism for all teams in the NFL – everyone has a chance at this point of the season.
On Thursday, the San Diego Chargers host the Dallas Cowboys at Qualcomm Stadium. These two teams are average at best and will likely fight for a wild card, but it’s an intriguing preseason match-up.
The Baltimore Ravens start their preseason at home against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday. This is a game that’ll provide more intensity than other games this week, as the Harbaugh brothers go H2H.
The Raiders won only 4 games last season but when you look at the personnel they were putting on the field even that seems like more than they should have.
Despite intense scrutiny the Jets finished 8-8 and out of the playoffs last season. I know that result was far from comforting to fans but at least it was an improvement from the year before.
The National Football League season is right around the corner. The Seattle Seahawks look to defend the first Super Bowl win in franchise history, while 31 other teams would be more than happy to knock them off their pedestal.
The Giants didn’t exactly hit rock bottom last season but it was definitely a disappointment.
The start of the 2014 NFL season is still a ways away, but lines are already available as far out as Week 16 (lines aren’t yet set for Week 17 because it’s too early to predict whether teams will have something to play for, making those lines too difficult to set).
The NFL season won’t kick off for another 10 weeks, but with the schedule out and oddsmakers already taking action on the games, there’s no better time to begin looking forward to what the fall will have to offer.
