The 2015 NBA Draft is nearly upon us, and while the first few picks are considered a consensus among most mock drafts, there is certainly a possible for a shakeup with one week remaining.
The 2014 NBA draft will be a big day for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. The big names on most big boards are Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Joel Embiid, but with the recent injury to Embiid, players such as Dante Exum are looking to hear their names called in the top three.
NBA news: Warriors president Rowell resigns
Robert Rowell has resigned as president of the Golden State Warriors. According to owner Joe Lacob, Rowell wants to explore other business opportunities.
NBA news: Magic will not trade Dwight Howard
It’s fun to speculate on wild trade rumors involving 2012 free agent Dwight Howard but the Orlando Magic insist that they will not trade their superstar center.
Howard has indicated he’s open to rejoining the team but that he wants to be surrounded with better players and that he’d like to be involved in personnel decisions.
Cavs to grab Irving at No. 1
Not that it’s a big surprise, but it’s almost official now that the Cleveland Cavaliers will take Duke point guard Kyrie Irving at first overall in this week’s NBA draft.
That means they’ll let Arizona forward Derrick Williams fall to Minnesota at No. 2.
Suns to buy out Vince Carter
Vince Carter’s star sure has fallen a long way. The former Rookie of the Year has averaged 22.2 points with Toronto, New Jersey, Orlando and Phoenix since starting his career in 1999. But he’s fallen out of favor to the point that he’s expendable in the desert.
The Suns plan to decline the $18-million option on Vince’s contract and buy him out for $4 million.
Carter is expected to attract interest from contending teams in need of a bench scorer. [soliloquy id=”82219″]

Usually, NFL odds are supposed to be the toughest to follow on draft day. This year’s NBA draft, however, is one of the most difficult to predict in recent memory outside the No. 1 pick.
