College Football Spread: Notre Dame -6

Connecticut: The Week That Was

The Huskies didn’t play the past week, and for a team that lost cornerback Jasper Howard earlier in the season, that’s the best possible thing that could have happened for coach Randy Edsall’s club. Finally, UConn was able to step away from the football field and take time to grieve for a beloved teammate.

Washington: The Week That Was

If the Huskies were flying high after their stunning upset of USC, they were brought back to earth this past weekend at Stanford. Washington got clobbered by the Cardinal, 34-14, as Steve Sarkisian’s club surrendered 321 rushing yards, 200 of them to Stanford running back Toby Gerhart. Despite allowing only seven completed passes, Washington’s defense was repeatedly gashed on the ground, a sign that UW’s defensive front needs to get stronger.
