Browns QB Anderson Leaves game vs. Giants Early

Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson left Monday’s preseason contest against the New York Giants with a possible concussion. Anderson was sacked by Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora and immediately exited to be evaluated.

Brady Quinn replaced him, and as of right now is a mediocre 6/10 for 114 yds and 1 TD.

Takeo Spikes A 49er

Niners sign LB Spikes

The San Francisco 49ers signed linebacker Takeo Spikes, the club announced Sunday.  Spikes was released by Philadelphia in March after one season with the Eagles, when he recorded 139 tackles and one sack in 14 games.

Quite the career for Spikes, In 140 games — 139 starts — he has totaled 1,177 tackles, 22 1/2 sacks, 15 fumble recoveries and 12 interceptions, but it has to be said its on the downside of it now…
