Orlando will hope to end their 10-game head to head losing streak against the Raptors.
The Magic are coming off a one-point win in their second game in two nights, both played against the Hawks.
[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]
Small forward Tobias Harris hit a 20-foot jumper at the buzzer to beat the Hawks on Saturday night 100-99. Harris is the second leading scorer on the team with 18.5 points per game, right behind Nikola Vucevic who pours in 18.6 per night.
Vucevic is the starting center for the Magic and will return tonight to play the Raptors. He missed the previous six games with a lower back sprain. The seven-footer has put up impressive numbers this year when he has been on the court. He averages a double-double, 11.7 rebounds along with his 18.6 points.
Point guard Victor Oladipo has been on fire lately averaging 18.1 points per game on 54.7% shooting in his last seven games. Oladipo will be faced with a tough matchup tonight when he has to guard Kyle Lowry.
[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]
If the Magic hope to be competitive in this game, Oladipo must contain Lowry and have another good offensive performance.
The Raptors own the best record in the East, although they are only 5-4 in their last nine games. Tonight they hope to get star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan back in the lineup from a torn left abductor. Before he went down he was averaging 19.4 points per game with 4.2 rebounds.
Toronto has a very balanced starting line-up, offensively and defensively. As a team, they average 107.9 points per game which is good for second in the league. In the past they have always been able to score the ball, but this year their defense is the reason for their success. The Raptors are a stunning 10-0 this year when holding their opponent under 100 points.
Power forward Amir Johnson and small forward Terrence Ross have been major contributors to the Raptors success as well. Collectively they average about 22 points per game and 9 rebounds. The forwards have been spectacular on defense, especially in the absence of DeRozan, and have had the responsibility of locking down the opponents top scorer.
Ross is coming off a season-high 22 points along with Lowry who added 21 points, 11 assists and six steals.
[dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]
However, Lowry had a career high nine turnovers which added to the teams highest turnover game of 24.
The Raptors are still learning to play without DeRozan and have begun to figure it out. Tonight’s game will be determined by the guard play of Oladipo and Lowry.
Oladipo will continue to rip it up and win the battle against Lowry, but it won’t be enough to win outright.
Toronto 103, Orlando 99
Look for Orlando to cover the spread though, they have been playing well and with the return of their center they will keep it close.

The Bucks are coming off their biggest win of the year after defeating the Clippers 111-106 on Saturday night.
Tonight the Bucks will begin a four-game road trip out West with hopes of getting their record above .500. Milwaukee has had a very impressive season thus far compared to last year. They are only three wins shy of tying last years season win total of 15.
[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]
Saturday’s win over LA snapped a two game losing streak and broke their skid of five losses in the last six games. Milwaukee is full young talent with lottery pick forward Jabari Parker and 6 foot 11 inch small forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. Parker, the rookie out of Duke, has not disappointed by averaging 12.5 points per game to go along with 5.6 rebounds. Giannis has been adapting to the game very well, he is also averaging 12.5 points per game with 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
Milwaukee’s leading scorer is point guard Brandon Knight who averages 17.4 points per game. He is arguably having one of his best seasons averaging 5.6 assists and 4.6 rebounds. Playing alongside Knight is the six-year man from USC, O.J. Mayo.
[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]
Mayo is one of the best shooters in the league, but has been struggling this year. He is only averaging 10.8 points per game and is shooting a career-low 39.9% from the field.
For the Bucks to win this contest out west, they will need big performances out of their young stars.
Before dropping the last five games the Phoenix Suns were 12-7. During the losing streak, the Suns are allowing 108.2 points per game which ranks in the top three in worst scoring defenses. Their offense has not been producing at all either. The Suns are usually one of the top scoring teams in the league averaging 104.7 points per game on the year, but during the streak they are averaging only 100.6.
The offense all starts with point guard Goran Dragic. He is averaging 16.1 points per game to go along with 4.0 assists. Dragic has been banged up thus far this year and his status for tonight’s game is questionable with a strained lower back.
His other partner in the back court is shooting guard Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe is statistically having one his best years averaging 15.6 points per game along with 6.0 assists and 4.8 rebounds.
The anchor in the paint for the Suns is power forward Markieff Morris. He has to play well and defend the paint if the Suns want to have any chance of winning.
[dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]
Despite the rough five game streak for Phoenix, rookies Tyler Ennis and T.J. Warren have been showing signs of potential by combining for 19 points, five boards, and five dimes.
NBA Gambling Prediction
I expect to see the Suns play with intensity and end their five game losing skid. Gerald Green will have to contribute off the bench and Markieff Morris will have to play Jabari Parker tough.
Phoenix will come out and end their losing streak.
Phoenix 113, Milwaukee 102
Bledsoe will fill up the stat sheet and contain O.J. Mayo.
