NHL Betting: 2009-10 NHL Season Preview

Bet on NHL Games at Bodog Sportsbook

There will always be hockey, and there will always be hockey betting.

Sure, they might eventually have to contract a team here and there, or move them from the Sun Belt back to smaller Canadian markets. But the NHL has entrenched its place among North America’s four major pro sports leagues. The Winter Classic has been an absolute success, labor costs are down after the 2004-05 lockout, and league attendance last year was virtually identical to the NBA.

NFL Week 4 Betting Odds

NFL Week 4 Preview

Week four is packed with some of the most exciting games of the first half. My pick for best game of the week is a three-way tie between the Jets at the Saints, Chargers at the Steelers and the Green Bay Packers at the Minnesota Vikings. Brett Favre had a big week four in 2008; throwing six touchdown passes against the Arizona Cardinals. Can he repeat this week against his former team?

2009 Tour Championship Gambling

Golf Betting: The Tour Championship

Betting on golf doesn’t get much simpler than this. Only 30 men are competing at the 2009 Tour Championship, and only one of those men is Tiger Woods.

The Tour Championship is the last stop on the FedExCup trail; the list of participants has been whittled down to the Top 30 players in the points standings, and the points have been reset going into Thursday’s opening round at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.

Here is your new Top 5 list:

Bodog NFL Week 1 Preview

NFL Preview – Week 1 – September 9, 2009

This time, it counts.

Not that we can’t enjoy spending the money we’ve already made off the NFL preseason. But the people around the water cooler probably weren’t all that keen about starting their office pool until this week – the start of the 2009 regular season.

It is what it is. Those of us who have been working the preseason will have the jump on the rest of the market when the inevitable injuries happen and those anonymous reserve players are pressed into service.

Week 1 NCAA Football Betting Recap | Week 2 Preview

Where did all the points go?

Some crazy stuff happened during Week 1 of the college football season. From a handicapping standpoint, the most intriguing was the under going 22-15-1 at the end of Sunday’s action. Even the one overtime game (Minnesota 23, Syracuse 20, with the Orange cashing in as 7-point home dogs) sailed below the posted total of 48.5. The under went 21-19-1 during Week 1 of the 2008 season and 27-19-1 in 2007, so it’s not unusual for offenses across the nation to get off to a rough start.

British Open Review

Bodog Sportsbook 2009 British Open Recap

The British Open is the hardest event in golf – hardest to win, and hardest on the soul, as Tom Watson can tell you.

Watson went to the 18th tee at 3-under and one stroke ahead of Stewart Cink, who earlier drained a 12-foot birdie putt on the final hole to stay within shouting distance of the 59-year-old legend. Needing only to make an eight-foot par putt to claim his sixth Open Championship and first since 1983, Watson came up short. Then Cink easily put away his opponent by six strokes over the four-hole playoff to hoist the Claret Jug for the first time.

2009 MLB All-Star Game Preview – Midsummer Classic

You can’t tell the players without a program – even when they’re All-Stars.

The rosters for Tuesday’s MLB Midsummer Classic keep changing at the 11th hour. The latest move over the weekend had Boston Red Sox 2B and reigning American League MVP Dustin Pedroia deciding to stay in Boston to be with his pregnant wife Kelli, who was hospitalized last week after showing signs of labor earlier than expected. Pedroia is being replaced by Tampa Bay Rays 1B Carlos Pena, the AL leader in home runs with 24.

NHL Playoff Update

If the Stanley Cup playoffs don’t really get started until one of the favorites gets bounced, then consider the NHL postseason off and running.
