Even though the Super Bowl will be played in an indoor turf stadium in Dallas and the Packers have a great offense that can light up the scoreboard the Packers vs. Steelers Over/Under Predictions are still hard to predict.

The total for this game is 44 at many sportsbooks and 44.5 at others.

The Steelers are playing in their 3rd Super Bowl in the last 5 years and in Super Bowl XL the total went Under and in Super Bowl XLIII the total went Over.

This season’s Over/Under records do not really give a good indication of the Packers vs. Steelers Over/Under Predictions with the Steelers at 11-11 and the Packers at 10-13.

The Packers are the team with the offense and the Steelers are obviously led by their defense, but that was not the case in the conference championship games. The Packers beat the Bears with their defense and the Steelers did play good D, but they won with their offense, especially the running game. The Bears vs. Packers game went Under and the Steelers vs. Jets game the total went Over.

This season the Steelers’ ranked first in the league only giving up 14.5 ppg while the Packers ranked second giving up an average of 15 ppg. Both of these teams have the defenses that can shut down the opposing team and each can also create turnovers and score with their defense. The Steelers are known for their defense, but in the playoffs their offense has stepped up averaging 27.5 ppg. In their 2 games they played teams with great defenses in Baltimore and the New York Jets.

The Packers have only faced one team with a great defense in the playoffs in the Bears in the NFC title game and even though Aaron Rodgers passed for 244 yards he was picked off twice and did not toss a TD. The Packers were shut down for most of the 2nd half by the Chicago D and did not score until the 4th quarter. This game should definitely go Under if the Steelers’ passing D can keep Rodgers from having a big game.

Can the Packers Stuff Pittsburgh RB Rashard Mendenhall?

One key for the Packers vs. Steelers Over/Under Predictions has to deal with the Green Bay run defense. Mendenhall rushed for 121 yards and a TD averaging 4.5 yards per carry in the AFC title game and he is key in this game. If he has another good game the Steelers will control the clock and the game will be less likely to be a high scoring one. Football betting

The Packers run defense has yet to give up 100 rushing yards in the playoffs and in their 3 playoff games they have only given up an average of just under 70 rushing yards per game. However, they have been up early in all those games and their opponents have had to air it out to try to come back. During the regular season the Green Bay run defense ranked 18th in the league.

How will Rookie RB James Starks Play?

Starks has emerged as the lead back for the Packers in the playoffs and in their first playoff game against the Eagles he was stellar with 123 yards on the ground. He has rushed for 66 yards and 74 yards in the last 2 post-season games he has only averaged 2.6 yards per carry 3.4 yards per carry, respectively, in those games. He will be facing the best run defense in the league that held the Jets to only 70 rushing yards in the AFC title game. However, if Starks can somehow move the chains on the ground Aaron Rodgers will not have to air it out as much, which would make the Under a more likely outcome.

Can the Pittsburgh Passing Defense Contain Rodgers?

The Steelers’ passing defense ranked 21st in the league this season. During the regular season they faced 3 teams with great passing offenses in Atlanta in week 1, New Orleans in Week 8, and New England in week 10. In the first 2 games the total went Under, but in the game against New England the total went Over with Tom Brady passing for 350 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT. Rodgers may be the key to making Packers vs. Steelers Over/Under Predictions, as if he does not have a big game the total will probably go Under.

Which Big Ben will Show Up in Dallas?

Ben Roethlisberger only passed for 133 yards with 0 TD and 2 INT in the AFC title game, but he did not have to carry the Steelers since Mendenhall had a great rushing game. In the playoff win over Baltimore he passed for 226 yards and in the last 5 games of the regular season he passed for over 250 yards in every game. He will be facing a stellar Green Bay passing defense in the Super Bowl.

The Packers vs. Steelers Over/Under Predictions basically come down to Rodgers and if he can move the chains in the air. If he can the game will probably go Over, but if he cannot the Under is the way to go.

I think He will have a big game and if I were a betting man, which I am, I would take the Over.
