Cappers Picks FREE SuperBowl 49 Proposition Bets

5 Super Bowl Prop Gambling Lines

There is no competition like the Super Bowl for prop bets. The limits will be lower than for other wagers but you can almost bet on every outcome of the game, including what colour the Gatorade will be that is dumped on the winning coach’s head.

NFL Football Gambling

Some of these things are pure luck while others demand some handicapping prowess because not only are you looking to predict the outcome of the game but also how it is going to play out.

Here are a few props I like including some fun ones that will not help you determine the winner but might line your pockets.

Russell Wilson for MVP +325

If you are going to make an MVP bet you are essentially making a Moneyline bet too. With that in mind I really like Russell Wilson leading the Seahawks back to the promised land.

Seattle can win in a lot of ways but mostly they do so in methodical fashion and if they win and nobody puts up exceptional numbers then the next place they look is the QB for not screwing it up.

Wilson definitely does not have another stinker like he did I the NFC title game.

Kam Chancellor total tackles over 6.5

This is the only member of the original Legion of Boom not dinged up heading into this one. He will be involved in multiple facets of the defense including controlling Gronk so I think we will see him all over the field.

That should give him ample opportunity to influence the game and collect lots of tackles. Plus when the Pats are looking to play catchup late he will have the opportunity to pad that total.

He can average a couple of tackles per quarter easy.

How many times will a reference to deflated footballs be mentioned? Over 2.5

Obviously this is one of those fun ones that is only relevant thanks to recent events. I think the over is the smart play here but I am a bit concerned that perhaps the league has attempted to steer the conversation on the topic away from the game.

Assuming the announcing team hasn’t been coached I don’t see how they couldn’t poke at this thing, even if it is only in jest.

There is bound to be a missed field goal, muffed punt, fumble or some other awkward looking play that could invite comment. Just don’t go crazy here because you never can doubt the NFL’s power of persuasion.

Which coach is mentioned first by name?

  • Pete Carroll -110
  • Bill Belichick -130

This one is kind of like picking the coin toss but I think there is more advantage here. I think the play is on Seattle coach Pete Carroll who is the more energetic of the two and is often mentioned as he hops up and down the sidelines before the game even starts.

If no coach is mentioned in that time period than you known you can count on that same energy to be on display the first time there is a big play by Seattle.

Belichick is more stoic and thus less likely to grab the camera’s attention.

How many points will Stephen Gostkowski score?

  • Over 8.5

Back to the actual game with this one. Just so everyone is on the same page Gostkowski is the Patriots kicker. I think he can eclipse this total because he is reliable and I think that New England will be forced to settle for some field goals.

At least two is the key.

If he doesn’t get at least a couple this number is going to be hard to achieve.

The opportunities will be there in the first half as the Seattle defense bends but doesn’t break.

They will have no choice but to put points on the board.
