NFL: GIANTS FAVORED IN NFC SHOWDOWN

The Carolina Panthers and New York Giants have a huge Sunday night game in the Big Apple with the winner getting home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

The Giants are three-point home favorites but 69% like the Panthers after watching the G-Men lose their last two games to Philadelphia and Dallas.

The Thursday night game has the Indianapolis Colts giving 6 ½-points on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts have won seven straight games although the best they can do is a Wild Card. A gigantic 94% of early bettors are backing them.

The Saturday night game is the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Baltimore Ravens as 4 ½-point favorites. Both teams are fighting for Wild Cards and the loser may find themselves out of the playoffs. Dallas is getting just over half the bettors at 56%.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans are fighting it out for the AFC top spot. The Steelers have won five straight games and they are 1 ½-point chalk over a Titans team missing Albert Haynesworth and Kyle Vanden Bosch. A huge 95% are backing Pittsburgh.

The Miami Dolphins are giving four-points at Kansas City after surviving last week at home against San Francisco. The Chiefs blew a huge fourth quarter lead against San Diego last week and only 26% are willing to back K.C. this time around.

The New England Patriots have won the last two weeks in Seattle and Oakland and this week’s home game against the Arizona Cardinals is another must-win. The Pats are giving eight-points and 77% are not scared off by what seems to be a high number.

The San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams game is one of the few this week with no playoff implications. The 49ers have played well lately and are five-point favorites on the road, but the public is fairly split with 56% backing the favorites.

The Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons are two teams in the thick of the NFC playoff race. The Vikings host the Falcons two-point chalk as three-point favorites and 57% like their chances as backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has looked good the last two weeks.

The Detroit Lions are trying to avoid becoming the first 0-16 team in NFL history, but this week’s task isn’t easy as 6 ½-point dogs at home against the New Orleans Saints. Only 14% like the Lions’ chances, even with the points.

The New York Jets needed a miracle to beat Buffalo last week, but they can take the AFC East with two more wins. The Jets are 4 ½-point chalk at the Seattle Seahawks and 70% are backing the New Yorkers even though they are 0-3 ATS on the West Coast.

The Houston Texans are on a four-game winning streak and have covered five straight. That’s a big reason why they’re seven-point favorites against a reeling Oakland Raiders team that seems to have given up. An enormous 99% are currently taking the Texans.

The Chicago Bears need to win their last two games and get a lot of help in order to make the playoffs. They host the Green Bay Packers on Monday night as four-point chalk but are surprisingly being backed by only 11% of early bettors.
