NFL: EAGLES MUST DEFEND HOME TURF

The Philadelphia Eagles are very much alive in the NFC playoff race at 5-3, but they’re in a must-win situation when they host the New York Giants as three-point chalk.

This is one of the many Week 10 early odds you can find at Sportsbook.com and this Sunday night NFC East contest looks like the best on the schedule. Early bettors like the world champs and the points, with 73% of the vote.

We also have the best selection of future odds, and the best promotions available like our Rush for the Riches and Primetime Props.

The Eagles are 0-2 in the NFC East so far with losses at Dallas and home to Washington. They can’t afford to drop to 0-3 as the division record is a key-tiebreaker, and they still have road games remaining at the Giants and Redskins.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL but they are still 6 ½-point favoritesat the Detroit Lions. Only 9% of the betting public likes the winless Lions playing with either Drew Stanton or Daunte Culpepper at quarterback.

The Tennessee Titans look to stay unbeaten on the year when they travel to Chicago as three-point favorites. Just 7% of the public likes the Bears and quarterback Rex Grossman, who is filling in for an injured Kyle Orton.

The New England Patriots are holding steady as four-point home favoritesagainst the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo has struggled away from home this season but New England is just 1-8 ATS in their last nine home games.

The New Orleans Saints are a pick’emat NFC South foe Atlanta. The Saints have had a week to rest after playing in London but they are 0-3 straight-up in road games. Atlanta is 3-0 straight up and ATS at home, albeit against weak competition.

The New York Jets are coming off a big win at Buffalo that puts them in a three-way tie in the AFC East. St. Louis was playing good football before being dismantled by Arizona at home last week and that’s a big reason the Rams are eight-point dogs.

Miami is giving nine-pointsat home to the Seattle Seahawks. The Dolphins have played pretty well at home this year with wins over Buffalo and San Diego, but they’ve been favored only twice all year and the largest spread was just three points.

The Minnesota Vikings are giving 2 ½-pointsat home to the Green Bay Packers, but 79% of the early bettors like the Pack at that number. This is a key NFC North battle with Green Bay beating them opening week at Lambeau Field, 24-19.

The Oakland Raiders have very few backers left after losing 24-0 at home to Atlanta. In fact, only 3% of the betting public likes them at home again even though they’re getting nine-pointsfrom a Carolina team that could be rusty after a bye-week.

The largest spread of the week by far is San Diego giving 15-pointsat home against Kansas City. The Chargers are coming off a bye and need to win badly, but 77% of bettors are willing to back the Chiefs who should have beaten Tampa Bay last week.

The Houston Texans will be playing without quarterback Matt Schaub this week with Sage Rosenfels taking his place. Rosenfels will have to be careful against an aggressive Baltimore Ravens defense and only 12% like the Texans as 1 ½-point home favorites.

The Arizona Cardinals have a three-game lead in the NFC West division over every team including San Francisco. The 49ers travel to the desert for Monday Night Football and Arizona is giving 9 ½-pointsat home where they are a perfect 3-0 ATS.
