Giants-Saints showdown highlights NFL Week 6
The biggest game on the National Football League’s Week 6 slate features a pair of unbeaten teams that both seem to be, well, unbeatable.
It should make for a classic clash when the New York Giants tangle with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at the Louisiana Superdome (1 pm ET, FOX).
betED.com has the Saints favored by 3 points in NFL Betting Lines, with the over/under set at 47.
Both teams have been white-hot to start the 2009 NFL campaign. New York has won five straight (5-0 SU) and has covered the spread in four of those tilts. New Orleans has won its first four in a row, and has cashed in all four.
The Giants have the edge head-to-head, going 5-3 SU over the past eight meetings dating all the way back to 1995. The teams are even against the spread at 4-4 ATS.
This will be the first meeting in nearly three years. The Saints smoked the Giants 30-7 as 3-point road underdogs on Christmas Eve, 2006.
Last week, the Giants destroyed the hapless Oakland Raiders 44-7 as a 15-point home favorite. The score went over the total of 38.5.
Ahmad Bradshaw rushed for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 11 carries for the Giants and Eli Manning passed for 173 yards with two touchdowns
The Saints are coming off a bye week. In Week 4, RB Pierre Thomas ran for 86 yards and a TD on 19 carries as the Saints shut down the New York Jets 24-10.
New Orleans covered as 6.5-point home favorites and the score went under the 48-point totals.
The Giants are 19-3 SU in their past 22 road games, and 17-2 ATS in their past 19 away from home. New Orleans is 6-1 SU and ATS in their past seven at home.
