With Week 7 nearly over, now is time to look back on the Week and determine who stepped up their games and who may have cost you this Fantasy Week. As always, there were a share of great performances and unfortunately there were more than enough poor efforts as well.

Below is a compilation of the Good and the Bad of Week 7 in Dave B’s Studs and Duds list. Enjoy!

Studs of the Week:

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints – Brees completed an incredible 31 of 35 passes against the Colts in less than three quarters of action. He ended up with 325 yards and five, count ‘e five touchdowns. Unbelievable Stud!

DeMarco Murray – Dallas Cowboys – What? I think the Boys have found the solution to the problems that they have had at running back! Murray started in place of an injured Felix Jones on Sunday and ripped off 253 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. What a performance by the rookie.

Arian Foster – Houston Texans – Foster was a machine rushing and receiving in Week 7. Get this – he rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns while adding 119 yards receiving and a score. Running Backs were huge on Sunday – 2 of whom were worthy Studs of the Week.

Other Studs:

QBs

Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – The Vikings kept the game close but with Rodgers, the result was never in question. Another 335 yards and three touchdowns has Rodgers in his normal spot on the Stud list!

Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh Steelers – Ben took full advantage of a weak Arizona secondary on Sunday passing for 340 yards and three touchdowns. He was totally in control throughout and looked like a legitimate Stud all game long.

Cam Newton – Carolina Panthers – There doesn’t seem anything that this kid can’t do. In Week 7 against a tough defense, Newton threw for 256 yards and a touchdown but added 59 crucial yards and a touchdown on the ground. He’s a Stud no doubt about it!

Honourable Mention: Mark Sanchez – I can’t believe I just wrote that!

RBs

Matt Forte – Chicago Bears – Forte showed the London fans what running the ball is all about. Against the Bucs, Forte rumbled for 145 yards and a touchdown while adding another 38 yards through the air. Pay the Stud!

Adrian Peterson – Minnesota Vikings – The Green Bay Packers knew that AP was going to see the ball a lot and still they couldn’t slow him down. Peterson ran for 175 yards and a touchdown on Sunday and as per usual was a total Stud!

Michael Turner – Atlanta Falcons – 122 tough yards helped the Falcons cement a very important win in Detroit in Week 7. He was by far the best offensive player on the field Sunday.

Honourable Mention: Shonn Greene – I can’t Believe I just wrote that!

WRs

Plaxico Burress – New York Jets – He didn’t catch many balls or go for many yards but three of his four catches went for touchdowns – a Stud performance!

Steve Smith – Carolina Panthers – Smith has been sensational this season and makes his fifth appearance on the Stud list already. On Sunday, Smith had seven catches for 143 yards in an impressive win over Washington.

Greg Jennings – Green Bay Packers – The Vikings made a game of it but Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings got the job done. Jennings caught seven balls for 147 yards and a touchdown in his return to the Stud list.

Honourable Mention: Marques Colston, Jimmy Graham, Michael Jenkins, Mike Wallace, Calvin Johnson [ad-8469823]

Duds of the Week:

Philip Rivers – San Diego Chargers – It was the marquee matchup on the Week 7 schedule and unfortunately, Rivers delivered a total Dud. 179 yards passing, one touchdown and two interceptions is another in a long line of disappointing performances from Rivers.

Ryan Torain – Washington Redskins – Many of you started Torain based on his last few performances. Although 100 yards and a touchdown may have been a stretch, two carries for minus five yards was. When a Fantasy RB ends up in the minus territory, he is an automatic Dud.

Other Duds:

QBs

Matt Stafford – Detroit Lions – Stafford has 54 yards passing in the first half and at home in a huge game, he was unable to pick it up a bit in the second half. Stafford ended up with 183 yards passing and one touchdown in a game that most thought he would throw for 300 yards and three touchdowns.

Matt Cassel – KC Chiefs – Cassel was many analysts’ Sleeper of the Week but only passed for 161 yards, ZERO touchdowns and two interceptions in a game that the Chiefs actually won. If you started Cassel, I am sorry!

Matt Hasselbeck – Tennessee Titans – Ugh! 104 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in a very important divisional game is unacceptable!

RBs

Rashard Mendenhall – Pittsburgh Steelers – Was everyone expecting a huge week from Mendenhall like I was? 13 carries for 32 yards this week proved that last week may have been a fluke.

DeAngelo Williams – Carolina Panthers – Williams appears to be on the path of a season-long Dud. He had 10 carries for just 25 yards on Sunday and is losing touches rapidly to the far more effective Jonathan Stewart.

Chris Johnson – Tennessee Titans – Johnson was prime for a big game after having the bye to work on his game. Instead, Johnson ran for just 18 yards on 10 carries and caught 6 balls for 27 yards. Johnson is on the Dud list for the fourth time in six games this season – BRUTAL!

WRs

Vincent Jackson – San Diego Chargers – Ugly game for VJax who was shadowed by Darrelle Revis. He has one grab for 15 yards in his second Dud performance of the season. C’mon Vincent, you are better than this!

Miles Austin – Dallas Cowboys – 2 catches, 16 yards. That’s it! Disappointing effort on a day that the Dallas running game was the Star!

Nate Washington – Tennessee Titans – Coming off a bye, as the Titans WR1 and playing from behind, Washington should have been money! Instead, he caught one ball 10 yards in a Dud effort!
