Texas Tech had a down season, but they way they fought to end the year bodes well for them tonight against Texas A&M in this elimination game of the Big 12 Tournament. Tech went 3-1 ATS in their final 4 games, losing by just 6 at Texas, beating Kansas by 19, and losing by just 2 at Kansas. This is a team that nobody in the Big 12 wants to face right now, especially Texas A&M who finished strong to likely snag a spot in the NCAA Tournament. A&M is likely in even if they lose, but Texas Tech clearly is not which gives them the motivational edge. A&M already beat the Red Raiders by 6 on the road and by 9 at home, but it is extremely tough to beat a team 3 times in the same season. This also give Tech the motivational edge. Motivation is key in these conference tournaments and I’ll side with the more determined team Wednesday. Tech is 6-0 ATS off a close loss by 3 points or less to a conference rival over the last 3 seasons. Cash in with Texas Tech as the underdog.
