Enjoy!

We have more unfortunate NFL injury news today but also some positive news to mix in. Let’s catch up with the NFL’s wounded and see what else is going in sports.

NFL news: Dallas Clark out for season; Smith, Jackson and Cribbs ; Magic Johnson wants team back in L.A.

The Colts Lose Dallas Clark For The Year

Already missing Joseph Addai and Austin Collie at least in the short term, the Colts’ offense took another major blow today. It turns out Dallas’ Clark’s mysterious wrist injury is serious enough to require surgery. He was placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season.

On the bright side, Pro-Bowl wideout Vincent Jackson has officially ended his holdout with the San Diego Chargers. He’ll report to the team next week and will be eligible to play on November 28. Another star receiver, Carolina’s Steve Smith, looks ready to return from his sprained ankle. He returned to practice on Wednesday and is probable for the Panthers’ game against San Francisco this Sunday.

After James Harrison concussed him last week, Josh Cribbs is back at practice and looks like he’ll play this Sunday against New Orleans. His fellow concussed teammate, Mohamed Massaquoi, isn’t so lucky. He hasn’t practiced yet and likely won’t play in Week 7.

The latest NFL-back-to-Los-Angeles rumor comes from none other than Magic Johnson. Last week, he sold his share of the L.A. Lakers and his 105 Starbucks stores for $100 million. With his pocket nine figures deeper, could he make a run at bringing the NFL back to La-La Land? Johnson told the Los Angeles Times this week that he hasn’t discussed anything with the NFL but “really, really wants the NFL to come back to L.A.”

If it’s relocation instead of expansion, it’s hilariously easy to guess which team is most likely to move to L.A.: Jacksonville. Jacksonville. Jacksonville.

MLB news: Jayson Werth hits historical homer; Jose Bautista has surgery

While the stat is partially a reflection of the Wildcard era and teams playing more playoff games, Jayson Werth’s historical feat is still pretty impressive. His homer last night in Game 5 of the NLCS was the 13th of his postseason career, tying him with Albert Pujols, Chipper Jones and Jim Edmonds for the most in National League history.

Suspicious about Jose Bautista’s 54-homer season? Maybe we owe him a bit more respect. Turns out he played with a spots hernia since May. He had surgery yesterday to repair it.

NBA news: Shaq visits Harvard in statue form; Spike Lee helping Melo seek trade; Vujacic engaged to Sharapova

Oh, Shaq. You never stop appreciating your own celebrity. And we appreciate you for that.

The Big Aristotle visited Harvard yesterday – as a street performer. For no particular reason, he went to Harvard Square, sat down, and posed as a statue for an hour yesterday afternoon. You have to love the guy.

Is Spike Lee helping expedite the Carmelo-Anthony-to-New York process? The Knicks’ most famous fan reportedly leaked to general manager Donnie Walsh that Melo’s first choice as a trade destination is New York. Since Lee doesn’t work for the Knicks, the discussion isn’t considered tampering.

In other news….on the NBA Gossip front.

Eat your hearts out, Nomar and Mia. Lakers Guard Sasha Vujacic has announced his engagement to Maria Sharapova.
