The Dolphins are coming off a game which they needed to win but instead put up a dud of a second half to fall to the New England Patriots in embarrassing fashion, 41-13. The Dolphins surrendered 24 points to the Patriots in a fourth quarter in which Tom Brady threw a pair of touchdown passes, helping the Patriots clinch their sixth consecutive division title.

Ryan Tannehill completed 29-of-47 passes for 346 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions against the Patriots. His counterpart in this one, Vikings rookie Teddy Bridgewater, completed 31 of 41 pass attempts for 315 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions in a 16-14 loss to the Detroit Lions.
The Dolphins have been outscored a combined 69-26 in losses to the Patriots and Baltimore Ravens over the last two weeks. A big reason has been the team’s inability to establish its ground game.
The Dolphins have run for all of 71 yards in two December contests.

Without that ground game, opponents have keyed in on the Dolphins’ passing attack, which has led to Tannehill getting sacked 10 times over the past two games.
They will be in tough again this week, facing a Vikings defense that limited the Lions to a season-low 233 yards in last weekend’s matchup.
Free Minnesota vs. Miami Pick:
The Dolphins like to lean heavily on the pass, and one of the things the Vikings do best is defend the pass, which figures to make for a long day for the Dolphins’ offense. The Vikings have also shown some flashes on offense, so they figure to get some points of their own.
Miami-native Teddy Bridgewater will surely bring his A-game for this one. The letdown spot after an embarrassing loss to the Patriots won’t do the Dolphins any favors either.

Additionally, both teams have defended better than they’ve moved the ball in recent weeks, so points will be hard to come by in this matchup.
