Germany – FIFA Ranking: 8
Germany – Odds To Win World Cup: -133
It is insane to think that Germany will not advance out of this group. In the last eleven World Cups, they have finished third or better eight times! Recent second place finish at Euro 2008 gives Germany fans more hope. Germany is a lock to finish atop of this group.
Germany World Cup Predictions:
After winning the group, Germany has a potential matchup with England looming! Yummy! Top eight is probable, with a semi-final berth very possible.

Serbia (FIFA Ranking: 16)
Serbia – Odds To Win World Cup: +375
They are a surprisingly deep side and will hope to continue a trend of unheralded Eastern European countries making the semi-final – remember Turkey, Croatia and Bulgaria? Names like Vidic, Zigic and Jovanovic on the roster make this team legit. Former Real Madrid and Barcelona boss Raddy Antic is their coach which only makes them stronger.
Serbia World Cup Predictions:
They should advance. Second place in the Group, edging out Ghana. They could surprise in the Round of 16.
——————————————————
Ghana (FIFA Ranking: 32)
Ghana– Odds To Win World Cup: +400
Ghana is a talented side especially in midfield but the questionable health of Michael Essien could pose problems. They did finish second in the Africa Cup of nations but only scored four goals the whole tournament. In many other Groups they might advance but in Group D they will finish just out of second place.
Ghana World Cup Predictions:
Ghana will be competitive in every match but injuries and a recent lack of goal scoring keeps them on the outside looking in.
——————————————————
Australia: (FIFA Ranking: 21)
Australia – Odds To Win World Cup: +600
Australia has the benefit of qualifying in the Asian bracket which increases their chances a lot. The Aussies boast a little skill and have one of the best keepers in the world. Australia is the weakest side in the Group but will play with reckless abandon.
Australia World Cup Predictions:
I don’t expect Australia to win a game but they will be fun to watch. They have nothing to lose and should be as loose as any team in the tournament.
——————————————————
Conclusion:
Group D should be fun to watch. Germany seems to raise their game in the World Cup. Ghana has dynamic playmakers while Serbia is tight – top to bottom. There could reasonably be two quarterfinalists out of this Group.
