World Cup Fixture Game 2 Odds: South Africa +200/ Uruguay +130/ Draw +220

The second round of group stage matches begins the same way as the first did, with the hosts South Africa looking to build on their draw with Mexico. This time they take on Uruguay, who missed and opportunity to seize the initiative in Group A, as they served up a drab goalless draw in a scrappy encounter with France in round one.

Despite South Africa having the home advantage, they are the rank outsiders in the group and so the odds favor Uruguay. World Cup Betting

South Africa and Mexico tangoed to a stalemate in their opening game, aligning a four-way tie for first place in Group A.

Midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala won the hearts of his nation when he scored the opening goal of the tournament, beating Mexican goalkeeper Oscar Perez with a blistering shot from just inside the penalty area.

Riding high on that glory, it will be interesting to see what he can do for an encore. Defensive midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi and defensive tactician Tsepo Masilela both earned yellow cards in South Africa’s previous match.

If either one of them receive a yellow card against Uruguay, the side may be forced to play without two of their better squad mates for the final game of the group stage.

So staying out of foul trouble will be paramount.

Uruguay meanwhile, also opened up their campaign with an unimpressive draw as they tussled 0-0 against France. The offensive threatened a few times as when Diego Forlan’s shot whistled just wide of the goal in the second half, but overall, they seemed to be content playing for a draw and played somewhat lackluster.

Forlan has scored 56 goals for Spain’s Atletico Madrid over the last two seasons.

Maybe now that Uruguay seems to be in the hunt for top honors in Group A, he will be able to use that scoring prowess to carry the team to the next round. He does have one yellow, so he too will need to avoid any further foul trouble. Walter Gargano was a surprise omission from the squad and it’s expected the playmaker will be reunited with the team on Wednesday to add to the midfield engine room.

However, the side will be without Nicolas Lodeiro who was suspended after drawing a red.

Uruguay will be looking for an easy win over rank outsiders South Africa, but the Bfana Bfana have shown their resilience against Mexico and to their ability to score goals in their friendlies.

However, against this sort of opposition they are going to struggle.

For this reason, the prediction is 2-0 to Uruguay.
