Cameroon’s Group E clash against Denmark is a must-win for both sides after falling to defeat in each of their group openers.

The Indomitable Lions slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Japan, while the Danes were manhandled in a 2-0 loss to Holland, raising the stakes even higher on Saturday.

Defeat is unthinkable and a draw barely better, so a more adventurous approach by both squads is all but inevitable. World Cup Betting

Despite being favored, the Cameroon squad was lifeless in their match with underdog Japan. The first 30 minutes were not an exercise indicative of how will the Lions can play.

Japan finally broke the tie when Daisuke Matsui’s shot drifted over the heads of Cameroon defenders Nicolas Nkoulou and Stephane Mbia and onto the foot of Keisuke Honda at the back post, who took advantage striking it quickly past an outstretched Hamidou Souleymanou. Despite a mediocre attack led by Samuel Eto’o, Cameroon never really challenged Japan keeper Eiji Kawashima.

The Africans struggled to possess the ball and generate any rhythm up front, and even when they put a few passes together, the buildup usually was wasted by poor crosses, and unconnecting passes. Cameroon’s first shot on goal didn’t come until the 37th minute, when Eric Choupo-Moting dropped the ball at the top of the box for Eyong Enoh.

But Kawashima easily handled the midfielder’s low drive keeping the Cameroonians of the board. Japan’s stiff defense frustrated Cameroon and kept Eto’o in check. Cameroon looked lost in the midfield, and clearly was playing without a plan.

Something they cannot do against the Danes.

Denmark goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen suggested the squad use increased planning, eye contact and sign language to overcome the problems caused by noise of trumpets at World Cup matches.

Fans at the finals in South Africa blast their plastic instruments to root their teams on, but players hate them, especially goalkeepers, who need to scream instructions to defenders.

It sounds like the pressure of the big stage was somewhat to blame for their 2-0 loss to the Netherlands, which could have been more disastorous if two late Ornaje charges had nearly made it a 4-0 deficit.

Luckily Olsens Elleve face a struggling Cameroon side with problems of its own, and with a good opportunity to snatch a win to stay in the hunt for a transfer spot.

While both sides boast different playing styles, the teams are pretty evenly matched making this a difficult one to call.

On one hand the Danes have some good, solid players and a good if not amazing level of skill. On the other hand, Cameroon have been known to play the spoiler and will have the advantage of a little more home crowd support in South Africa.
