Now they get another South American squad in the next round in Colombia, who looked really sharp in dispatching Uruguay on the other half of this all South American pod.
All of the pressure is still on Brazil as the stakes get greater with each match.
The Brazilians have dominated in this matchup losing just once in 14 games against their neighbours to the North.
Their 4 most recent matches have all been draws though which makes you wonder if they might be in for another fiercely fought battle.
For the first time in this tournament I think you can actually consider playing Brazil on the moneyline. Not the greatest of payoffs but reasonable value.
Colombia
Colombia remains one of the top surprises of this tournament.

They were very good in their group stage winning all three of their game and made relatively easy work of Uruguay in the round of 16 to make it to the quarterfinals.
Their only loss since last summer was to that same Uruguay squad so they come into this pivotal game with as much momentum as possible. It is never easy beating Brazil and the stakes will have never been higher than with this game. The fact that they are only +350 actually says a lot.
Colombia finished group play with the second highest amount of goals with 9. In their first knockout stage match against Uruguay they scored another couple while keeping a clean sheet. You have to think they will need at least as many again if they want to advance in this round.
The last time they scored that many against Brazil was back in 1991 in the Copa America tourney.
It was also the one and only time they beat Brazil.
It would make such a great story is Colombia could beat Brazil to advance. However, that does not seem all that likely to happen and I am going to recommend jumping all over Brazil in this first opportunity for a decent payoff.
You can still get Brazil at +275 to win the whole thing.
This feels like the kind of match that, if they win, could propel them all the way to final so you might want to look at that too.
