NFL Sports Betting – Indianapolis Colts at St. Louis Rams
Indianapolis Colts at St. Louis Rams
Sunday, October 25TH – 1:00 ET Edward Jones Dome
NFL Sports Betting Point Spread: Colts -13, O/U: 45
Fresh off their bye week the Indianapolis Colts get an opportunity to rack up a lot of points against the Rams on the road. The Colts have won their last three games by double digits and appear to be the most complete team in the AFC. Even without Bob Sanders the Colts defense has been very solid allowing just over 14 points per game.

The St. Louis Rams were competitive last week in Jacksonville but came up short in overtime falling to 0-6. The Rams problems have certainly been on the offensive side of the ball, having been shut out twice this year and that should certainly continue against a defense that comes in to the game very fresh.
NFL Handicapping: What The Colts Have To Do To Win
The Colts will not need to do much to beat the Rams. What Peyton Manning has been able to do with his receivers is truly amazing. Manning has 12 touchdown passes and a fantastic quarterback rating of 114.1 and those numbers should improve this week.
Indianapolis could also get two starters back on defense as Kelvin Hayden and Bob Sanders could add a boost to an already solid unit. The Colts defense really stepped up the last couple of weeks after getting shredded against the Dolphins on Monday Night Football on September 21. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
This game could be out of hand in the second half and unlike the Patriots, the Colts will likely rest their starters in the fourth quarter.
NFL Handicapping: What The Rams Have To Do To Win
We saw the Raiders win last week as a 14 point home underdog but don’t expect the same result here. The Rams offense finally showed up last week, scoring 20 points. But even after that effort, they are averaging just 9 points per game while giving up over 28 points.
With the Rams receivers banged up, Steven Jackson will be counted on to make big plays but he has not been able to find the end zone all year. In the past, the Colts defense has struggled against the run but they appear to have corrected that problem in the last three weeks.
The Rams are getting better on defense but they will need a small miracle to slow down Peyton Manning and the Colts offense.
NFL Handicapping: Outlook & Pick
This should be the biggest blow out in week seven. Everything points to an easy Colts win as they should be motivated to play well after a bye week.
While the game is a road game for the Colts, it is still in a dome and the Rams have not had much of a home field advantage, covering just three of their last 12 games at home.
The Rams beat the Colts last time they played 19-17 in 2006 but don’t expect lightning to strike twice.

Look for a workman like performance from Peyton Manning and the Colts as they will not take the Rams lightly. They cover the 13 with several points to spare.
