NFL Betting Thursday – Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers

This should have been a good game. Okay, it might still be a good game from a sports betting perspective but the San Diego Chargers have turned into one of the worst teams in the AFC Conference this season. BetUS online sportsbook betting fans know about the Oakland Raiders, but the Chargers?

They just can’t do anything right this year. This is what NFL betting fans were worried about when the Chargers hired Norv Turner as coach. He couldn’t motivate a mole to get out of the sun much less a group of NFL players. The San Diego Chargers are 4 and 8 straight-up and 4-7-1 against the BetUS online wagering spread.

As bad as the Chargers have been this season, the Oakland Raiders are worse. I know. Hard to believe, but football betting fans have to laugh at how the Raiders went through a serious coaching change only to fall apart. Okay, they were falling apart before the coaching change, but this team is awful. They just dropped a game to the Kansas City Chiefs at home this past Sunday. They are 3 and 9 straight-up and 5 and 6 against the BetUS online wagering spread.

Raiders vs. Chargers Week 14 SpreadHere are the BetUS online betting odds for this game.

Oakland Raiders + 9 ½ – 110 O 43 ½
San Diego Chargers – 9 ½ – 110 U 43 ½

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.

The Oakland Raiders are 4 and 2 against the spread in their past 6 away games.
The Over is 3 and 6 in the Oakland Raiders last 9 games on grass.
The San Diego Chargers are 2 and 4 against the spread in their last 6 home games.
The Over is 5 and 6 in the San Diego Chargers last 11 games on grass.

The trends don’t mean a whole lot in this game. What this game will come down to is whether or not the San Diego Chargers have given up. They were awful this past Sunday when the Atlanta Falcons dominated them.

Oakland is a terrible team, but the Chargers might have that mental block that won’t allow them to win games. They should beat Oakland on pure ability, but covering 9 ½ points might be asking too much.

Thursday Night Football Prediction:

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but I’m going to go with the Oakland Raiders to beat the BetUS online betting spread of 9 ½ points. To me, the Chargers are so mentally exhausted that the Raiders might stick around to beat the spread.
