NFL Home Stretch Betting Eagles @ Redskins

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins were eliminated from playoff contention when they lost last weekend to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Redskins just don’t have the experience yet to get any further than they have this season. Factor in Clinton Portis playing hurt and that all but ended their playoff chances. All in all the ‘Skins still had a pretty good season straight-up going 7 and 7. Against the BetUS online betting spread they haven’t been that good going 5-8-1.

The Philadelphia Eagles have to win this game. If they do then they have a very good shot of making it to the NFC Playoffs should they win in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys. Donovan McNabb has responded beautifully to the benching he suffered a few weeks ago. He dominated the Arizona Cardinals and then found a way to beat the New York Giants on the road. Just this past Monday he led the Eagles to a victory over the Cleveland Browns at home. If McNabb plays well, the Eagles are a very difficult team to beat. NFL betting fans should note that even though Philadelphia is 8-5-1 straight-up, they are 9 and 5 against the BetUS online wagering spread.

Game-day: 12/21/2008
Kick-off: 4:15 pm est.

Here are the BetUS online betting odds for this game:

Philadelphia Eagles – 5 – 110 – 225 O 38 ½ – 110
Washington Redskins + 5 – 110 + 185 U 38 ½ – 110

Week 16 NFL Spread: Eagles vs. RedskinsHere are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game:

The Philadelphia Eagles are 10 and 3 against the spread in their last 13 games on the road.
The Under is 5 and 2 in the Philadelphia Eagles last 7 games on the road.
The Washington Redskins are 0 and 5 against the spread in their last 5 games at home.
The Under is 6 and 0 in the Washington Redskins last 6 games at home.

Philadelphia is playing at an extremely high level right now. It’s going to be difficult for any team to beat them. That includes any team they might face in the playoffs should they make it.

Washington is reeling after starting out the season playing extremely well. It’s another disappointing season for the Redskins. With Washington playing for nothing, the BetUS online sportsbook against the spread line of 5 points makes sense.

I hate giving up so many points on a road team in the NFL, but I feel that making an online bet on the Eagles is the only way to go in this game.

Eagles vs. Redskins Prediction:

I’ll bet the Philadelphia Eagles to cover the BetUS online wagering spread of 5 points in their game against the Washington Redskins this Sunday.
