Browns vs. Broncos Week 2 Spread

NFL Free Pick Week 2: Mangini’s Browns visit Denver

Game-day: 9/20/2009
Kick-off: 4:15 pm EST

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook football odds for this game.

Cleveland Browns +3 -105 +150 O 37 ½ -110
Denver Broncos -3 -115 -170 U 37 ½ -110

The Denver Broncos are ranked highly in the BetUS NFL Power Rankings due to a lucky play towards the end of their Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Does Denver deserve a top ranking? No. Do I expect them to keep it?

No. But they beat the spread and won straight-up which means they have to be towards the top of the list in the power rankings. Well, at least for this week.

Denver gets another cupcake on Sunday in their home opener, the terribly frustrating Cleveland Browns. Cleveland actually looked good early against the Minnesota Vikings, but then the Vikings got Adrian Peterson going and Cleveland folded. Cleveland still put up 20 points which means, of course, that they scored. That’s something that Denver couldn’t really do against a worse defense than Cleveland’s, Cincinnati’s.

Here are a few online wagering trends for this game.

The Cleveland Browns are 0-8-1 ATS in their last 9 games on grass.
The Cleveland Browns are 0-6-1 against the spread in their last 7 games overall.
The Denver Broncos are 5-21-1 ATS in their last 27 games overall. Browns vs. Broncos Week 2 Spread
The Denver Broncos are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 games versus a team with a losing record.
This game is going to come down to which team can move the ball. That means that Cleveland wins. Yes, Cleveland wins.

As bad as Cleveland looked in the second half against Minnesota last week, they were ahead of the Vikings at halftime 13 to 10. That means that Minnesota made the adjustments and Cleveland did not.

When it comes to playing the Broncos, the Broncos don’t have the ability to make adjustments because they don’t have the players. That means that Cleveland could possibly roll all over Denver.

That’s the bet that I will be making. Cleveland is the underdog and getting +150 on them to beat a team like Denver is a good bet.

The bet is Cleveland to beat the Denver Broncos straight-up at the NFL odds of +150.

I like the Browns to bounce back from last weeks loss and Denver is definitely a team they can beat. One thing for sure, stick with the under in this game.
