AFC Divisional Playoff NFL Spread: Ravens vs. Titans

Point spread and prediction for the afc divisional playoff weekend nfl clash between the Baltimore Ravens and the Tennessee Titans plus the betting spreads, and betting trends for nfl football gambling…

NFL Playoffs – AFC Divisional Battle Ravens vs Titans

I’m surprised that the NFL schedulers decided to make this the day game and the Arizona Cardinals vs. Carolina Panthers the night game this Saturday. To me, this is the much more intriguing game, and I believe most sports bettors would agree with me, as the Baltimore Ravens defense looked absolutely spectacular this past Sunday when dominating the Miami Dolphins. Ed Reed was amazing playing “center field” for the Ravens while the Ravens front line put pressure on Chad Pennington all day. It was an easy against the spread victory for the Ravens who beat the Dolphins 27 to 9. Against the BetUS online wagering spread this season, Baltimore has been an excellent 12 and 4.

The Tennessee Titans haven’t been that bad against the spread either. The Titans got a week to rest superstar defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth who was suffering from an injury. With Haynesworth back in the fold, the Titans’ D becomes one of the best in the NFL again. More importantly, Jeff Fischer got an extra week to prepare his men for battle. Fischer is an excellent coach. What was Tennessee’s record against the BetUS online wagering spread this season? How about a stellar 12 and 4.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook NFL betting odds for this game:

Baltimore Ravens + 3 – 115 + 135 O 34 ½ – 110
Tennessee Titans -3 – 105 – 155 U 34 ½ – 110

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game:

The Baltimore Ravens are 6 and 1 against the spread in their last 7 games overall.
The Over is 5 and 1 in the Baltimore Ravens last 7 road games.
The Tennessee Titans are 7 and 0 against the spread in their last 7 games following an against the spread loss.
The Over is 6 and 1 in the Tennessee Titans last 7 home games.

This game is going to come down to a few simple things. First, will the Ravens’ defense do what it did in the game against the Miami Dolphins and dominate the line of scrimmage?

The truth about the Tennessee Titans is that they haven’t faced a defense quite like what the Ravens can field. The defense that the Ravens can field will be faster and stronger and actually smarter, in defensive terms, than anything the Titans faced in the AFC South.

That makes this game pretty much a toss-up in my eyes. If Kerry Collins has to throw the ball with regularity, and there’s no doubt in my mind that will be Baltimore defensive coordinator Rex Ryan’s game-plan, then the Titans are in serious trouble of getting beaten down in this game.

The Titans love to rush the ball with rookie Chris Johnson and LenDale White. Take the rush game away, and the Titans become an average team.

On offense Ravens’ rookie quarterback Joe Flacco was exceptional for a rookie this past Sunday in the Dolphins’ game. I didn’t think Flaaco would play as well as he did.

The Titans have been great all season long but so have the Ravens. Looking at the schedules, there’s no doubt that the Ravens played a much tougher one.

Ravens vs. Titans Prediction:

I see them dominating in this game. I don’t even think taking the 3 points is necessary because I see the Ravens winning this game straight-up at + 135 in the BetUS Sportsbook and going to the AFC Championship game.
