The Vikings are giving more points than I would have expected in this game. Yes, Minnesota has the stars and, supposedly, a very good defense, but San Francisco has beaten two good teams. Beating up on Cleveland and Detroit isn’t anything to ride home about, so we really don’t know if Minnesota is for real.
Based on quality of opponent, the 49’ers win. There’s also no way that Coach Mike Singletary for the 49’ers doesn’t find a way to get to Brett Favre. With Patrick Willis mining the middle of the defense waiting for Adrian Peterson, and Brett Favre nursing a bad finger on his throwing hand, the 49’ers have a good shot at not only beating the spread, but also winning this game outright.
San Francisco is going to at least keep the game close with Frank Gore’s rushing and that stellar defense. The Minnesota Vikings area good team, but they aren’t a great team.
