Golf Betting Buick Open Predictions/Pick

Buick Open Betting – All Tiger, all day at Warwick Hills

Buick Open odds for this week’s event at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club has a familiar name at the top of the list, and given that he has extra motivation, it could be a long weekend for the rest of the golf betting field.

Buick Open Betting – Thursday, July 30

Tiger Woods missed the cut at the British Open, and it was only his second missed-cut at a major in his career, but that hasn’t stopped him from being a +150 favorite in an event he’s won twice in 2002 and 2006.Woods has finished outside the top 10 just once in eight Buick Opens, and Warwick Hills is a course that favors long hitters. Woods will have to sort out his driver, as he is 89th in accuracy off the tee.

Jim Furyk is next at +1200, and he’s one of the few golfers who won’t be intimidated by Woods if they’re paired together. He has eight top-10s in 14 trips to Warwick Hills, and even though he is 181st in driving distance, his accuracy allows him to fire at the pin. He’s coming off two finishes outside the top 30 in his last three starts, but those were in majors. 2009 Buick Open Preview/Picks

Brian Gay could be a great betting management pick at +2500, but since winning the St. Jude Classic, he has missed the cut at the U.S. and British Opens. Still, he is sixth in driving accuracy and 14th in putting, and he finished T-7 in last year’s tournament, won by Kenny Perry.

Scott Verplank is another one to watch at Warwick Hills, as last year’s T-17 was his eighth top-25 result here in nine years. He has three straight top-10s going, and like Furyk, his accuracy gives him a chance at this bomber’s paradise: Verplank is fourth in driving accuracy, and eighth in putting and greens-in-regulation.

Woody Austin is a great longshot choice for your sports picks at +3300, although he’s missed the cut in his last two starts. He’s finished second in two straight years at the Buick Open, and all he needs is a consistent putter to at least challenge for the lead.

Tiger is one of the best at bouncing back after a poor outing. I would expect him to be at or near the top from the first round.

If he doesn’t win or finish in the top 5 this week, then there is a bigger problem with his game.
