Bet On NHL Hockey: Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks enter the 2014-2015 NHL season with a little chip on their shoulder after losing in seven games to eventual Stanley Cup winner – Los Angeles in the Western Conference final.

NHL Predictions

With their two best players Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane armed with tasty new contracts, the Hawks will try to better a third place finish in the Central and that loss in the Western Conference Final.

2014-2015 Chicago Blackhawks Betting Preview:

Chicago will welcome Brad Richards into the fold – he will act as a terrific, much needed second line center playing alongside Kane and the last year’s breakout star Brandon Saad – yikes!

There aren’t a whole lot of holes on the Blackhawks. Up front they are as dangerous as any team in the league – the addition of Mr. Richards makes them more so.

Offense

Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Brad Richards, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp and Brandon Saad who had 19 goals and 28 assists last year are perhaps the best top 6 in Hockey.

Names like Andrew Shaw, Kris Versteeg and Bryan Bickell (who disappointed last year) provide a depth that most teams envy.

Simply put there is little or no excuse for Chicago not to be in the top tier of NHL teams this upcoming season. The Hawks are stacked and will be a handful each and every night.

Defense

Defensively Chicago also boasts top tier talent.

There’s Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Nik Hjalmarsson and Nick Leddy – each fulfill a different role on the team’s defense and each are superb in their roles. The Chicago Blue line can defend, they can move the puck and they will contribute in the offensive zone – a nice combination for this team.

Corey Crawford will return for his fifth season between the pipes for the Blackhawks. He is solid – not spectacular but has a knack of showing up big when everything is on the line.

His career #’s? 2.36 goals against and a .914 save percentage – good enough to keep Chicago in games and to let the insane offense do their thing.

FREE Blackhawks NHL Predictions 2014/2015

There is no reason to expect a dropoff for Chicago this year. In fact a slight bump is likely in the cards for this team as they seriously challenge for the President’s Trophy.

After alternating Western Conference Championships with the LA Kings the last four years – it is their turn to represent the West.

After they get out of the West it is hard to imagine any team in the East knocking them off.

Chicago, with addition of Brad Richards is the team to beat in 2014-2015.

They are favorites for a reason. I like so many like them to go all the way, to avenge their Western Conference Final loss and to carve out their second championship in three years.
