Over/Under: 5.5

The Wings and Blues resume pleasantries Wednesday night. If there’s one guy who can’t wait for this matchup, assuming he gets the start, it’s Jaroslav Halak. The Wings shelled him for seven goals in one game last month. Despite laying that egg, Halak still has an outstanding 2.24 goals against average this season.

His Blues are heating up, having gone 2-0-1 over their last three games. But they can’t put the puck in the net. Leading goal scorers Alex Steen and Andy McDonald have just eight goals apiece. The Red Wings, by comparison, have five guys with nine or more goals.

After getting humiliated on their home ice 5-0 by the Los Angeles Kings Monday night, the Wings should be hungry for redemption. I like them to bounce back against a team they trounced the last time out. It may not be a shootout this time, however; the UNDER is 10-17-1 for the Blues this season.
