Calgary seemed to have everything rolling in Game 3 and have nothing but confidence as we head into Game 4.

The Vancouver Canucks continued their struggles in the postseason with their 4-2 loss Sunday. They have now lost seven of their last eight playoff games. To make matters worse they have lost four of the last five games against Calgary while scoring just nine goals over that span – and they have lost three straight games on the road!

For the Canucks to win Tuesday they are going to have to draw on their experience edge in the series, the Sedins will have to get going and they will have to stay out of the penalty box. None of those three factors has made a difference thus far – the twins have two points combined in the three games and emotions have often gotten the best of Vancouver far too often.

Daniel and Henrik have had their issues with Calgary – they have a goal and an assist combined in their last five games against the Flames – not good. The good news for Vancouver is that Alex Burrows won’t be suspended after instigating a fight late in Game 3 – he, Ronalds Kenins, Radim Vrbata and Chris Tanev each have two points in two games.

Goaltending is becoming a bit of a question mark for Vancouver –Eddie Lack has lost his last three road starts and has a 4.00 GAA over that span. He has been very good against Calgary however – 4-3-0 with a 1.86 GAA in those games.

The Flames played a spectacular all-around game Sunday and hope to duplicate that effort Tuesday in a building that they have gone 5-0-2 in their last seven games.

Some unforeseen X-factors have emerged – ones that Vancouver couldn’t really account for before the series started. 18 year old Sam Bennett has emerged as a threat each time he hits the ice – he has a goal and an assists while proving to be a thorn in Vancouver’s side each shift. Michael Ferland is providing some unforeseen grit for an already physical team.

What’s most impressive about the Flame so far is the fact that they have been getting it done with minimal contributions from their top line – Jiri Hudler has yet to post a point in the series while linemates Sean Monohan and Johnny Gaudreau each have one point thus far. Six different Flames have been responsible for Calgary’s seven goals and 11 Flames have posted at least one point so far. Depth was supposed to be an advantage for Vancouver but Calgary is quickly closing that gap. Calgary is confident and they are dangerous as we head into Game 4.

The Flames should be a confident bunch as long as Jonas Hiller is playing the way he is. Hiller is now 9-3-1 in his last 14 games with a 1.99 GAA.

He has been very good against Vancouver as well – 4-2-1 in his last seven starts with a 2.15 GAA.

• VAN are 6-2 in their last 8 vs. Pacific.

• Home team is 14-6 in the last 20 meetings.

The Flames have won four of the last five meetings with the Vancouver Canucks and if Sunday’s game is any indication, Calgary may just have Vancouver’s number. Vancouver has no answer for Calgary’s second line of Sam Bennett, Mikael Backlund and Joe Colbourne and the top line of Monohan, Gaudreau and Hudler showed signs of breaking out Sunday night.
