The Ottawa Senators used an aggressive approach to even their seven game series on Saturday and now return home where the crowd will be on their side for once.

Just like the Sens, the New York Rangers are not immune to good play on the road and they will need it in what promises to be a raucous Scotiabank Place on Monday night. The Rangers were the league’s best team on the road during the regular season – they will need at least one win in Ottawa if they hope to advance to the second round.

Offensively, New York was rather quiet on Saturday night. Marion Gaborik was held without a shot and Brad Richards was nowhere near the player he was in Game 1.

Instead role players and tough guys stepped up and provided what little offense that the Rangers had. Brian Boyle was one of the goal scorers on Saturday – he now has two in the playoffs and seven in his last 11 games!

Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers defense were under siege all night but strangely it was two fluke goals that were the difference in Game 2. Lundqvist is a Stud – no need to worry about the Rangers ability to keep the puck out of the back of their own net! [ad-4437448]

New York was 3rd best in goals against for a reason!

The Ottawa Senators won without huge production from their top guns on Saturday night and chances are that Daniel Alfredsson may miss the game due to the hit he took from Carl Hagelin.

Despite the relative silence of Ottawa’s big guns they largely outplayed the Rangers in every aspect of the game on Saturday.

Like the Rangers, role players and second liners have been major contributors – Nick Foligno has a goal and an assist in the series and Kyle Turris has two assists to lead the way offensively.

Betting Prediction: The road team is 20-7 in the last 27 meetings between the two clubs. The New York Rangers appeared to have been caught off guard by the physical play of the Ottawa Senators in Game 2 – it is unlikely to happen again.

With Ottawa’s Matt Carkner suspended with the likelihood of Daniel Alfredsson missing Game 3, this smells like an Ottawa letdown game.

Expect a better effort from the Rangers on the way to gaining back home ice advantage.

Pick: New York Rangers -116
