Blackhawks vs. Canucks Preview

One thing is very obvious about this series is that the team that plays with the most emotion will win the game. In Game 1 the Canucks took all of the emotion out of the Hawks by playing with emotion. They dominated the better part of the first four periods of the series and then the emotion got away from them. Then the emotion shifted.

The Hawks were the more passionate team for the last two periods of the series and the series is tied 1-1.

For Chicago, the game plan is simple. Pressure the Canucks. If the forwards can challenge the Canucks defense and the defense can pressure the Canucks forwards, they should be OK.

Kris Versteeg was a nice surprise for Chicago and played like a man possessed. He represents the secondary scoring that a successful playoff team needs. With Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane not having really shown up in the series yet, the Blackhawks are a pretty scary team right now.

After a shaky Game 1 Antti Niemi played well and made some game changing stops. Will it continue?

Not certain it will. Sports Betting at Sportsbook.com

The Canucks lost their mojo after ten minutes of Game two. It was apparent to everyone watching. Let’s see if a little West Coast air and a rabid GM Place crowd will add some life back into this team. The Sedins have been largely neutralized so far in the series and will need to get going if the Canucks want to go farther in the playoffs.

Enough excuses, to win the Twins are going to have to be better.

Has anyone seen Alex Burrows smile in the last month? Me neither. He has been invisible in the playoffs so far. If he could ever get going, his line with Kessler and Mayson Raymond could be the difference.

Luongo is the man and he will do his part – no worries there.

The Sportsbook odds favour the Canucks but they are not famous for making it easy on their fans. They truly make their fans earn it. I’m thinking letdown in Game 3 and a Blackhawk win. Just call it a hunch.
