The Stars will look to snap a four game road losing streak while the Canucks hope to stop a four game skid that has bumped them out of first place in the Pacific Division. Dallas has won the last four meetings between the teams including a 6-3 win October 21 in Dallas.

The Dallas Stars were supposed to be a team on the rise this season but sit two games under .500 20 games into the season. The offense has been OK averaging 2.90 goals per game but the defense has not been great at all – the Stars have surrendered an average of 3.52 goals per game this year.

Tyler Seguin has a league-best 23 goals on the season and has six points in his last three games, Jamie Benn has 13 points in his last 11 games, Ales Hemsky has six points in eight games and Antoine Roussel has three points in two games. Seguin has four goals and seven assists in his last five meetings with Vancouver. The offense is doing its part – unfortunately the defense has let this team down more often than not.

Kari Lehtonen is just 1-1-0 with a 4.09 GAA and .875 save percentage in his last two starts and has an unflattering 3.10 GAA and .902 save percentage this season.

It could be Lehtonen or newly recalled Andres Lindback getting the call between the pipes – Lindback has yet to win this year in five tries and has an ugly 4.63 GAA.

The Vancouver Canucks have their own issues between the pipes heading into Wednesday night’s game. Ryan Miller is 1-3-0 with a 4.10 goals against average and .837 save percentage in December and is 4-4-1 with a 3.40 GAA and .877 save percentage in his career versus Dallas. He has lost five straight games to the Stars and was pulled in the first matchup of the season after allowing five goals on 13 shots.

It’s not just the goaltender that is playing poorly for Vancouver. They have been outscored 17-7 during their four game losing streak – the offense has been as poor as the defense. Chris Higgins and Luca Sbisa are pointless in their last seven games, Yannik Weber has failed to hit the score sheet in four games and Alex Edler hasn’t recorded a point in five games.

The good news is that most of Vancouver’s recent futility came on the road. They play their second straight game at home Wednesday and should be on point once again.

NHL Gambling Trends

• DAL are 2-6 in their last 8 Wed. games.
• Over is 19-7-2 in DAL last 28 Wed. games.
• Under is 20-8-2 in VAN last 30 vs. Central.
• Over is 8-1 in the last 9 meetings in Vancouver.
• Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.

The Dallas Stars have owned the Canucks the last two years and yet they enter as huge underdogs in this one. The Canucks however are due to bounce back and record a win! The one glaring similarity between these teams is recent defensive woes. Because of that, the pay here is the Over.
