The Leafs enter having earned three points in their last two games and having gone 4-5-1 in their last 10 games while the Flames have gone 4-0-1 in their last five games and are coming off an impressive 6-3 road win at Anaheim Wednesday.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been the biggest joke in the NHL but one of their recent wins did come against the Flames – 4-1 on December 9.

That said they have gone 1-15-2 in their last 18 games away from home and their fourth leading scorer and a player that recorded two assists in the teams’ first meeting, Nazim Kadri will not dress due to disciplinary reasons.
The Leafs offense has slipped dramatically – they average just 2.63 goals per game now – they could have a difficult time with Kadri out of the lineup.
Phil Kessel has just one point in four games, Morgan Reilly has one point in seven games and Joffrey Lupul is pointless in a whopping nine games.

It says a lot when Toronto is leaning on David Booth offensively – he has five points in five games while James van Riemsdyk has two points in two games – these two represent the only hot players on the Leafs roster.
Jonathan Bernier is slated to start between the pipes Friday – he is 1-2-1 in his last four starts with an ugly 4.04 GAA and .887 save percentage. Bernier has had some success against Calgary however – 4-1-0 with a 1.60 goals-against average in his last five starts against the Flames.
The Calgary Flames just won’t go away! They have been very good lately – even better considering their last seven games were on the road – they went 4-2-1 in those games. The offense and defense has been meshing well as of late making the Flames one of the toughest outs in the game.
Offensively, the Flames have been clicking – 22 goals scored in their last five games overall.
Johnny Gaudreau has three goals with three assists during a five-game point streak, defenseman Kris Russell has two goals and six assists in four games, Juri Hudler has nine points in five games and Dennis Wideman has five assists in three games.

11 Flames gained at least a point last time out against Anaheim which speaks to the depth that the Flames have flashed as of late.
Jonas Hiller will get he start between the pipes Friday and he’s been very good lately. Hiller is 1-0-1 in his last two starts overall with a terrific 1.22 GAA and .963 save percentage.
