Montreal is at #2 – believe it. The Islanders are at #4! The Boston Bruins and the St. Louis Blues currently sitting outside of the dirty dozen. Unbelievable. To say the least, everything is turned upside down.

Let’s take a look.

1. San Jose Sharks 4-0-1 (Two Weeks Ago: 12) – The Sharks continue their regular season prowess – they just can`t get it done in the playoffs. They have yet to lose in regulation and have faced some tough foes along the way. Antti Niemi is 3-0-0 with a 2.27 GAA so far – that doesn`t hurt.

2. Montreal Canadiens 5-0-1 (Two Weeks Ago: 13) – are a close second but their 7-1 beat down at the hands of Tampa has to knock them down a peg. Carey Price has an uncharacteristic 3.38 goals against average – he has yet to steal a game. The Montreal offense has been hot – when Price comes around they`ll challenge for top spot.

3. Anaheim Ducks 4-1-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 3) – Their only loss of the season so far has been to Pittsburgh – no shame in that. Goaltending issues no more – Frederik Andersen is 4-0-0 with a 1.71 GAA so far.

4. New York Islanders 4-1-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 22) – The Isles` only loss has been to the Penguins as well. Things are going well on Long Island right now – they are 4-1 and may have solved their longstanding goaltending woes. Jaroslav Halak is 3-1-0 so far.

5. Ottawa Senators 4-1-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 27) – after an opening night loss the Sens have reeled off four straight wins. Goaltenders Craig Anderson and Robin Lehner have a combined GAA under 2.00 – impressive. They could use a little more offensive support – their place in the top 5 is tenuous!

6. Los Angeles Kings 3-1-1 (Two Weeks Ago: 1) – The Los Angeles Kings started slowly losing their first two games but they have been dominant in their last three – all wins while allowing two goals combined.

7. Chicago Blackhawks 3-0-1 (Two Weeks Ago: 2) – The Chicago Blackhawks have yet to lose in regulation and they are still, on paper, the best team in the NHL. Brad Richards somehow hasn`t registered a point and the power play has been brutal. Expect these things to pick up and the Hawks to be challenging for top spot soon.

8. Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1-1-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 8) – The Penguins are certainly getting some good play from Marc-Andre Fleury – he is 3-1-0 with a 2.50 GAA so far. Sidney Crosby is back to his special self – expect the Pens to rise.

9. Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1-1 (Two Weeks Ago: 7) – The Lightning put a 7-1 pounding on the Habs last week and beat an unbeaten Canucks team Saturday. Steven Stamkos has been dominant – a good sign for the Lightning but the bad news is Victor Hedman`s injury – he is going to miss a few games. Ben Bishop has a 1.71 GAA so far this season as well – Tampa looks like a complete team as we head deeper into the season!

10. Washington Capitals 3-0-2 (Two Weeks Ago: 15) – the Capitals have yet to lose in regulation – 3-0-2. Barry Trotz has these boys playing some hockey – proof is Braden Holtby`s 1.85 GAA so far.

11. Nashville Predators 3-0-2 (Two Weeks Ago: 16) – Pekka Rinne is back – a 3-0-1 record with a 1.22 GAA.

12. Dallas Stars 2-1-2 (Two Weeks Ago: 11) – The Stars offense has been clicking all season lone – the Stars are 2-1-2 season and getting a little help from goaltender Kari Lehtonen.

13. Detroit Red Wings 3-1-1(Two Weeks Ag: 14)
14. Boston Bruins 3-4-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 4)
15. Vancouver Canucks 3-1-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 21)
16. Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 17)
17. St. Louis Blues 2-1-1 (Two Weeks Ago: 5)
18. New Jersey Devils 3-2-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 18)
19. Toronto Maple Leafs 2-3-1 (Two Weeks Ago: 24)
20. Minnesota Wild 2-1-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 9)
21. New York Rangers 2-3-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 10)
22. Philadelphia Flyers 1-2-2 (Two Weeks Ago: 19)
23. Calgary Flames 3-3-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 26)
24. Arizona Coyotes 2-2-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 20)
25. Florida Panthers 1-2-2 (Two Weeks Ago: 23)
26. Colorado Avalanche 1-4-1 (Two Weeks Ago: 6)
27. Winnipeg Jets 1-3-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 25)
28. Carolina Hurricanes 0-2-2 (Two Weeks Ago: 28)
29. Buffalo Sabres 1-5-0 (Two Weeks Ago: 29)
30. Edmonton Oilers 0-4-1 (Two Weeks Ago: 30)
