This team is unexciting, and it seems the teams that are less exciting are dying quickly in the NHL. Marty Turco is still one of the best goaltenders in the game, and the first line of Mike Ribeiro, Brenden Morrow, and Loui Eriksson can undoubtedly do some damage. But with aging players like Jere Lehtinen and Mike Modano ready to go the way of Joe Sakic, anything that goes wrong for this team will most certainly impact them negatively in the standings.
With little depth in the line-up the Dallas Stars are a gamble to do anything other than underachieve this season. A playoff berth will be a battle for this team, and as it has been for the last few years, there will be room for only two teams out of a possible six who will be up for it. Marc Crawford may have a significant impact as the new head coach, and if the first two lines of this team can deliver I may be eating my words.
