Aaron Rodgers, who threw three interceptions in the Week 4 loss to Tampa Bay, came back rather nicely with three TD passes against Atlanta, even with an injured shoulder that left his status in doubt until the last minute. Look, he doesn’t have the savvy of Brett Favre, but Rodgers can’t be called a bust in his new starting job, not by any measure, with 63% and 1274 yards, which will get him over 4000 yards projected over the 16-game season.

Of course, here comes another road game, and the road is where all four of his interceptions have happened. Rodgers is getting some support from Ryan Grant (83 yards vs. the Falcons), but Grant, because of injuries and such, is not exploding the way he did last year when he was so effective. Grant’s per-carry average of 3.7 yards is almost a yard and a half less than what he accomplished last year.

This may be bad timing for the Green Bay defense, which is very nicked up in the secondary. Matt Hasselbeck is starting to get his receivers back. Bobby Engram and Deion Branch have returned to action, and they’re joining Billy McMullen (17.7 yds/catch) and rookie tight end John Carlson (12 catches, 168 yards). And Julius Jones, who had 267 yards in two weeks before bring slowed up by the Giants, could be due for a bounceback.

The situation helps us too. If Seattle, which was humiliated by a 44-6 count in the Meadowlands last week, can’t come back with a strong effort upon returning home (where they’ve covered seven of their last eight) in a game where its coach is facing his former team for the last time, this squad is almost hopeless. Lay the points with Seattle, the two-point favorite in the BetUS NFL football betting odds.
