The hype is up as always in Cleveland, Ohio, even for a preseason game. The Browns welcome in the Washington Redskins Thursday night to open up to the 2015 preseason.
While the Redskins already have their QB position set with Robert Griffin III, the Browns will have an interesting competition going on. Newly signed QB Josh McCown and Sophomore QB Johnny Manziel will battle it off this preseason with the #1 spot on the depth chart on the line.

Kick off is set for 8:00 PM with Robert Griffin III, Josh McCown, and Johnny Manziel all expected to get snaps.
Washington Redskins
The Redskins had a season to forget in 2014. Finishing 4-12 and dead last in the NFC East, the Redskins have reason for optimism in 2015. Robert Griffin III is as healthy as ever and has some solid weapons built around him to help the Redskins compete this season.
In 2014, Griffin III threw for only 1694 yards and 4 touchdowns as injuries plaqued his season. He’s ready and much more relaxed heading into this season.
Around him, he’ll have DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon, who are a solid 1-2 punch out wide. With him in the backfield, he’ll have Alfred Morris.
The Redskins lost 7 of their last 8 games in 2014. They scored 17 points or less in 5 of those 7 contests.

Robert Griffin III is expected to get a little more than a quarter in the contest. Following him will be former Brown, Colt McCoy, who will get a majority of the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Kirk Cousins should get the 4th quarter if everything goes according to plan.
Cleveland Browns
The Browns have the most optimistic fan base in all of football, there’s no denying that. However, after last season fell through the cracks, the fans have to be a little frustrated.
The Browns were 7-4 through their first 11 games and held onto sole possession of first place. In game 12, Hoyer fell flat and the fan base was calling for a replacement. That replacement was Johnny Manziel.
Manziel eventually got hurt and the season collapsed underneath them. They lost their last 5 games and Hoyer left town.
Cleveland signed Josh McCown in the offseason and he will now compete with Manziel for that number 1 spot. McCown was successful in 2013 with the Bears, but hasn’t shown any signs of being consistent since then.

The Browns will likely have Manziel start the contest with McCown coming in after. Regardless of who starts, these two will be the main focus over the entire preseason. They’ll get the same amount of time under center and battle it out for the #1 spot on the depth chart.
Regardless of who comes out on top, expect that starter to be on a short leash the entire season.
