Minnesota
To their credit they are competing hard most of the time but when they play a good team, especially one with a good offense, they are just getting shredded. This team has to be the biggest disappointment in the NFL this year as most thought this team would easily contend for a Wild Card spot.
Minnesota has the league’s worst defense, giving up an average of 29 points per game. That is a lot for any offense to overcome, let alone one with a rookie QB and beat up star running back and receiver. This team totally needs a reset, maybe with more practice time under Christian Ponder’s belt and a healthy Adrian Peterson they are not that far from competing in 2012.
I am not sure why but I like the Vikings to finally put together a complete game and pull off the road upset. I really don’t like the Skins and think they may be a little over confident after beating the rival Giants last week. They are due for a letdown and Minnesota will sneak by them in a game that only affects the draft standings.
Washington
The Washington Redskins have to be happy about beating the Giants twice in one season. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Sadly it is about the only highlight from a year that revealed this team has way too many question marks on offense and not a good enough defense to compensate. I am still amazed that some thought this team would contend for a playoff spot.
It will be interesting this weekend to see one of the leagues worst scoring offense’s (Washington) against its worst scoring defense. Mainly because hold the Skins playmakers in such low regard that I think the matchup favours the Vikings. The one thing they can do on defense is rush the passer and making Rex Grossman make quick decisions is always a good thing.
As stated above I think the Skins are in for a huge letdown in this one. Last week was a game they were obviously well prepared for and it showed. For a team with so little to play for it is hard to have that kind of focus two weeks in a row. Also, they seem to play better on the road than at home where the crowd sometimes turns against them.
ATS Pick: Minnesota +7
Over/Under Pick: Under
Score Prediction: Minnesota 23 – Washington 20
