Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears Week 6 NFL Lines & Spread Prediction

SNF – Vikings vs Bears Week 6 Gambling Preview

With the presence of the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers, and the emergence of the Detroit Lions, the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings both find themselves looking up in the suddenly stacked NFC North.

Both teams have some of the key pieces needed to be a legitimate contender, but have far too many holes to contend for a playoff spot this season. While the Vikings ended their winless skid with their first victory of the season at home against the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday, the Bears fell to 0-2 within the division and 2-3 overall with a loss to the Lions on Monday Night Football. With fans in Chicago still hopeful that their team has enough time to turn it around, this Sunday represents a crucial game in the Windy City, one that could be termed a “must-win” at Soldier Field.

The problems in Chicago start up front on both sides of the football, as both the offensive and defensive lines have struggled from the outset this season. The Bears’ offensive line actually had one of their better performances of the season against Detroit, but still allowed three sacks and a couple of more shots on quarterback Jay Cutler. Cutler was visibly mad with the amount of hits he took in a week two loss at the New Orleans Saints, but the team simply hasn’t had the personnel to drastically improve the protection. While the offense has had trouble with keeping their quarterback on his feet, the defense has had just as many problems coming up with pressure of their own on opposing quarterbacks, and managed just a single sack on Matt Stafford in their most recent loss.

They will need to be much better this week on both sides of the ball against a Vikings’ team that rode Adrian Peterson to their first win of the season last Sunday, with the Pro Bowl running back going off for 122 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Minnesota outscored Arizona 28-0 in the first half, and never had to look back as they cruised through the final three quarters for the victory. The Vikings will turn to Peterson hoping he could come up with another big effort this week, and how he performs against the Bears’ defense will have a key impact on how this game plays out.
