I’m expecting a close game, as both of these teams are trying to keep to Indy in the AFC South.

The Titans have played tough the last three weeks, but they’re 1-2 in that span. All three games ended up being decided by a combined five points, but we can throw those performances out the window.

Zach Mettenberger is going to start for Tennessee against the Texans on Sunday. This will be the first start for the rookie QB and he’ll be going up the explosive pass rush of Houston that’d led by J.J. Watt.

Jadeveon Clowney also wants to play, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll suit up or not. He won’t be 100%, but if he plays opposite Watt I really don’t see this start going well for the rookie QB.

Tennessee is only scoring 17.3 PPG (28th), so I can see why they’re playing with the QB position. They have one of the worst pass offenses (209.9 PYPG –28th), but Kendall Wright is finally stepping up.

The run game (110.4 RYPG – 17th) isn’t going to give Mettenberger much help either. Bishop Sankey leads the team at RB, but they don’t utilize the rookie enough. That should change this week though.

Houston is definitely the better team in this game. The defense allows 268.7 PYPG (26th) and 118.6 RYPG (20th), but they only give up 21.4 PPG (11th) because they have forced a lot of turnovers.

Arian Foster will have to deal with a heavy load on offense though. The Texans average 129.0 RYPG (8th) and 216.0 PYPG (25th). They have two good WR’s, but Fitzpatrick isn’t that good of a QB.

The Titans defense ranks worse than 20th in all major statistical categories. They’re going to give up yards on the ground to Foster and that’ll open up Johnson and Hopkins downfield in the pass game.

4* Free NFL Pick: Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans

Houston is 3-1 ATS in the last four H2H meetings. They’re 3-1 SU as well, as they lost the last meeting, but won the three prior to that. Houston is the better team and I expect them to bounce back.

After losing the way they did last week to the Steelers the Texans will either bounce back strongly or they will fold. They need this game to keep pace with the Colts and at just –3 I’ll bet on them.

Houston Texans –3 (-110)

Foster is the best player on offense on both teams and he should take over this game. Mettenberger will struggle in his first start and this Texans defense is very capable of forcing a couple interceptions.
