New York Giants 2015 Gambling Odds & Handicapping Preview

2015 New York Giants Predictions

Hardly anyone is giving the New York Giants any respect in the NFC East in 2015, but I’m a believer.

This is going to be a different team than last year and that’s mainly because they’re healthy. If they can avoid the injury bug in 2015 – this team has the chance to surprise everyone and win the NFC East for the first time since 2011.

That was the year the Giants won the Super Bowl, but they haven’t made the NFL playoffs since.

NFL Futures

New York Giants
2014 Record: 6-10
ATS: 7-9
Giants Odds to Win the NFC East Division: +400
Giants Odds to Win the NFC Conference: +1400
Giants Odds to Win the 2016 Super Bowl: +2800

The Giants had a quiet off-season for the most part. Antrel Rolle, J.D. Walton, Walter Thurmond, Mathias Kiwanuka, Stevie Brown and Zack Bowman are gone. Will Beatty has also been lost for the season due to an injury.

Shane Vereen, Dwayne Harris, Kenrick Ellis and George Selvie were all brought in. Ereck Flowers was drafted in the first round and will likely be expected to produce immediately now that Beatty has been lost for the year.

I love that they brought in Vereen, as he’ll be huge on 3rd downs this season.

Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams will ensure the Giants run attack is fierce in 2015. These three RB’s compliment each other well and although none present huge fantasy value, they’ll work great as a unit if they can remain healthy.

Eli Manning is still being ridiculed for his 2013 season, but he bounced back big last year. Manning actually had his best year in terms of completion percentage (63.1%) – he also threw for 4410 yards and 30 TD’s.

Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz are expected to be one of the best WR duos in the NFL. Cruz has to stay healthy, but if he can, he’s a problem in open field for defenses. Even with injuries last year – the Giants had a top ten offense.

Giants Betting Outlook

I have concerns about the defense, but at least the Giants are starting the year healthy on this side of the football. The problem is there isn’t a ton of talent, however, I love the fact the Giants brought back Steve Spagnuolo.

He’ll be able to take some of the young talent and teach them how to pressure opposing offenses.

The Giants will be relying on Jason Pierre-Paul to get pressure on QB’s, as the Giants pass rush is limited. JPP was hurt in the summer he had to have right finger amputated, so it’s unclear how JPP will perform this season.

While the defense has some holes and question marks – the defense doesn’t have to be great. They just have to make enough stops while allowing the offense to do most of the damage.

This is going to be a top ten offense again and possibly even a top five offense is everyone stays healthy. The Giants have a run game and pass game, so defenses aren’t going to be able to sell-out at stopping one or the other.

I’m betting on the Giants to win the NFC East, but I don’t believe they’ll win the conference championship.

At +400, we’re getting great value on the Giants, as most bettors are wagering on the Cowboys or Eagles. Both of those teams have plenty of question marks and a talented team like the Giants will be in the hunt for the division crown.
