Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals Preview

On the season the Steelers are 5-7 ATS and they have an O/U record of 8-4 and the Bengals are 6-5-1 ATS and they have an Under record of 4-8.

This season the Bengals are 4-1-1 at home and the Steelers are 3-3 on the road.

In their last games the Bengals beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14-13 and the Steelers lost to the New Orleans Saints 35-32.

The Bengals gave themselves a little breathing room with their last win, as every other team in the AFC North lost this last weekend. However, Cincy was less than impressive in their last game beating a Tampa Bay team by only 1 point.

This is the first game of the season between these 2 division rivals, as they will face each other in Pittsburgh in the season finale.

The Bengals have won 3 straight, but all of those wins came against teams with losing records. They won against the Buccaneers even though QB Andy Dalton had 3 picks. Dalton has been up and down on the season, but he does have 2 legit WR’s in Mohamed Sanu and A.J. Green.

While the Pittsburgh pass defense ranks in the middle of the pack they gave up 5 passing TD in the loss to the Saints and their pass rush only had 1 sack.

Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill pace the Cincy rushing offense and they were decent, at best in the win over the Bucs. The Steelers gave up 143 rushing yards to the Saints and if they play D like they did in the New Orleans game Big Ben may have to light up the scoreboard for the Steelers to win.

Ben Roethlisberger had a HUGE game in the Saints loss passing for 435 yards with 2 TD, but he also threw 2 costly INT’s. Big Ben’s main 2 targets are Antonio Brown, who leads the NFL in receiving yards, and Le’Veon Bell, who ranks 2nd in the league in rushing yards.

Bell is the player the Bengals may really have to worry about, as in the New Orleans game he rushed for 95 yards and had 159 receiving yards.

Cincy ranks a respectable 14th in the league in pass defense, but they have really struggled against the run this season and rank only 25th in the league in that department.

The Bengals are in first place in the AFC North, but they do not face one more team this season that currently have a losing record.

NFL Week 14 Betting Trends

* Pittsburgh is 0-3 ATS in their last 3 road games.
* Pittsburgh is 4-3 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
* Pittsburgh has an Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 games.
* Cincinnati is 1-2-1 ATS in their last 4 home games.
* Cincinnati has an Under record of 4-0 in their last 4 games.

4* Cappers NFL Free Pick

This one is a tough call, but even though the Steelers lost this last Sunday and the Bengals won I believe Pittsburgh is the better team. They are on the road in this game where they are only a .500 team, but while they may not get the W they will cover the spread in what will be a close game.
